The Danger Run recently completely re-designed its website dangerrun.com. It includes an enormous amount of new features including buying Danger Run tickets online! It has a spooky new design with a haunted house and zombies that creep towards a car full of Danger Runners. The layout of the site is much more user friendly and provides even more information about The Most Fun You’ve Ever Had In Your Car!

Additionally, you can save time and money by purchasing your Danger Run admission online for ONLY $14.95! You can still buy your Danger Run tickets at the start gate, but the cost at the gate is $15.95. So, you can save a dollar by purchasing your tickets in advance and then starting your haunted adventure at the Start Gate of your choice! There are 3 convenient locations located in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area. You can find them at Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse on Hurstbourne Parkway, Lowe’s Dixie Highway, and Lowe’s Veterans Parkway.

After getting your tickets, you can start on ANY Friday and Saturday Night starting September 25, 2009 and ending October 31, 2009. That’s right! The Danger Run is open 6 weeks this year! This is the first time in our history that we have EVER been open for six straight weeks! We wanted to make sure that you had plenty of time to take a crack at all of our courses for your chance to win a HUGE PRIZE PACKAGE!

Also included, along your haunted journey you will encounter 2, count ‘em, TWO terrifying haunted houses. These haunted houses are included with your admission to the Danger Run. This week has been a big week for the Danger Run. We have confirmed all of the clues & courses (yet again) and sent the clues off to the printers. We also received the hundreds of thousands (actually over 0.5 million pieces!) of printed material which will be getting distributed at the beginning of next week. Our radio spots have been recorded and are ready to roll over your speakers and our television spots are on their way to production. It is a very exciting week in one of the final 2 weeks of production.

Can you believe it?! Kentucky and Indiana's BEST haunted attraction opens in only two weeks! The Danger Run is back and it is like never before. For the 2008 season, Danger Run is coming at the Louisville area with loaded barrels including two all NEW HAUNTED HOUSES! Each Louisville area haunted house included on the run is completely unique. They are packed full with terrifying scares and special effects that you have to see to believe. We are sure that we are bringing you the very best haunts that Louisville has to offer!

Other than Louisville's SCARIEST HAUNTED HOUSE S, the Danger Run is also throwing in few additional EXTRAS. The greatest Halloween event in the nation is now on the horizon. We are within a month of the Danger Run's opening night. We recently finished writing all the clues and we will be driving courses yet again this Friday and Saturday night. So, if you happen to see us out and about with our dome light on, give us a honk! :o) The clues this year are cram packed with twists and turns and are sure to be a fun challenge. Don't worry, we didn't make them impossible…just close! Kidding! However, I'd be lying if I said they were all easy. So, bring your thinking caps so that you can find your way along our creepy roads to 2 scary haunted houses and win the BIG MONEY!

Additionally, all of our print ads have been sent to the printers. I doubt that most of you know this, but the Danger Run distributes over half of a million flyers and tray liners. That doesn't even count the thousands of postcards we send out! Or the posters! Anyway, once the printed materials are completed, we will be sending them out to all of our sponsors. So make sure to keep an eye out at DQ Grill & Chill, Dominos, Lowes, & Speedway for all the additional info you're looking for! If for nothing else, the ads are pretty snazzy this year and you should definitely swing by and pick one up just to take a gander at it. In other news, the 2 haunted houses are looking great! If either of them opened today, you would have an amazing show. I can't wait to see what they both look like completely finished. They are both entirely different styles of haunted houses and they are both oozing with fear. I have been a haunted house goer for many years (not to mention a haunt designer!) and I truly think that these haunts are 2 of the VERY BEST haunted houses in the Louisville area. Combining them both in one night along with the ghost run I will be surprised if you make hit home with dry pants! It is going to be a heck of a terrifying show and we are sure that you will have more fun at our Halloween event than any other attraction in town.

I came across this just doing a random search and I have asked the author if I could show it off. With her permission, I'd like you all to take a look at what she wrote.

"Danger Run was a success!  We had so much fun and for a change we actually finished the Run with TEN minutes to spare. (1:50 a.m.) As for the contest, I felt our mileage was good, but our "count" of stops was probably off.  Regardless of winning or losing, we had the best time.  The final haunt was in the middle of NOWHERE.  We arrived in Louisville to our starting gate at 9:50 and we started on our journey at 10:15.  We took our time, stopping periodically to read ahead, not that it always helps or makes sense.  Here's an example of one of the clues: 

"A Liar would tell you that a liar would say:
 ' At the spear with two heads, right isn't the way?'
You must think just a little
In solving this riddle.
Or you'll make the wrong choice, and with mileage you'll pay. "

What way would you go?

Matt was the driver and he does a wonderful job at remaining calm considering how stressful it is to make last second changes in an area you are completely unfamiliar with.  (We only had one "Oh, shit!" moment.)  When I'm not rushed, I love being lost.  For me, it's a lovely feeling, ripe with possibility and an accompanying sense of "smallness".    Not being the driver, I can afford that luxury.   Finally, I figured out the reason I love Danger Run.  As you read the clues, your brain can MAKE the clues fit what you're seeing.  You can drive along for quite a distance before you realize you've substituted your reality for the actual designated path.  Until you see something unequivocal that tells you that you are correct, it's a guessing game.  During one particularly challenging section, we had made several turns, followed a half-dozen clues and gone several miles.  As we approached what would be our next turn, I said, "If this is Dreibel, we made the right choices."  Sure enough, it WAS.  It was like we won the lottery.  We screamed with the delight of our accomplishment!  That feeling is euphoric and addictive."
