Stonegard har vært et av de mest markante rockebandene på den norske scenen de siste årene, men etter ca 10 år takker de altså for seg på Rockefeller den 16.1 og Sub Scene den 17.1.På Rockefeller har de invitert Sahg og Spellemannsnominerte i klassen Metall, Benea Reach med til å lage en festaften, og på Sub Scene er det Shraphead som står for oppvarminga.Stonegard ble startet allerede i 2000 og de ble raskt undergrunnshelter i Oslo, spesielt i miljøet rundt SoWhat der de opptrådte utallige ganger.På By:Larm i 2003 markerte de seg kraftig med to konserter som ble anmeldt til terningkast 5 av Håkon Moslet som den gang jobbet i Dagbladet.Bandet signerte platekontrakt med Bonnier Amigo i 2004 og i 2005 kom deres Debut, ”Arrows” som av mange ble karakterisert som tidenes norske rockedebut.Påfølgende konserter på Quart, Øya, Norwegian Wood, samt oppvarmingsjobber for Slipknot, Korn, Black Sabbath og System Of a Down satte for alvor bandet på kartet,og gav dem et stort og trofast publikum. I 2006 kom Oppfølgeren ”From Dusk Till Doom”. Også denne fikk en strålende mottakelse, bl.a. av Stein Østbø i VG som kastet en femmer og mente bandet fortjente et stort og bredt publikum.Stonegard fortsatte sitt virke med omfattende turnering i Skandinavia og Europa. I 2008 signerte Stonegard med Indie Recordings ”From Dusk Till Doom” ble sluppet i enremikset utgave i Norge og Europa i påvente av et nytt studioalbum. From Dusk Till Doom (European Edition) fikk en meget god mottakelse i Europa,og Stonegard ble bekreftet til Enslaved..s ”Vertebrae Tour” som skulle gå av stabelen i november og desember 2008.Rett i forkant av denne var det imidlertid stopp. Uenigheter om veien videre gjorde det umulig for bandet å fortsette, og brått var Stonegard historie.Denne helgen tar de altså sitt endelige farvel med to konserter i Oslo.Rockefeller konserten blir filmet og tapet til en DVD som skal slippes før sommeren.

Stonegard announce Support bands for Rockefeller and Sub Scene + DVD plans



Stonegard are doing their last shows ever on January 16th and 17th at Rockefeller and Sub Scene - both in Oslo. On the Rockefeller shows they have decided to film the show for a DVD to be released before the summer. Make sure to show up and bang your head and get your face on the Stonegard DVD. Stonegard also announced that Sahg and Benea Reach will join in as special guests at the rockefeller show. In other words it will be a great Rock evening on Rockefeller on January 16th - get your tickets here

We wish to put an end to our almost 10 years as a band, by giving our fans a final special treat! Therefore we have booked these two last gigs in January:

We want to thank everyone that has followed us, supported us, and listened to our music over the years, and want to complete it all with these shows, where we promise to give it everything, for the very last time!

The Darkest Hour has arrived..

Due to internal conflicts and disagreements Stonegard has
decided to cease as a band. In the best Rock N..Roll tradition we could not
find a way to continue our work together, and therefore chose to put an end
to things right away. Stonegard will not join Enslaved for the announced
European tour in November/December, and we are truly sorry to disappoint
everyone that was looking forward to seeing the band live this fall. Mostly
it has been an incredible joyride, and we hope you all appreciated what we
added to the scene. We will most definitely be back in different shapes and
constellations so keep your eyes and more importantly ears open. A special
thanks to all our fans that has been with us throughout the years - you made
this special for us - Thank you!

We sure hope everyone had a fantastic summer! 

The release of the European edition of our second album "from dusk till doom" is finally here, and will be available in stores and online all over Europe within the next weeks, starting in Norway august 25^th and then all over the continent during the first week of September!
