Current mood:melodious

So I got this weird idea to search for other Edie's and befriend them.  It was fun for awhile until I ended up with a ton of Edie's on my friends list and started getting confused between them, lol.

Anyway, the really cool thing about all that is that I found an Edie who can sing!  (Unlike me.)  And not only that, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE her music.

Please show some love for Edie and check out Edie The Singer's myspace page.

I (Edie) thank you.  Edie (the other Edie) thanks you.  Edie's across the globe thank you.

Here are three things in a myspace email that scream "I’m a pervert/scammer/conman":

1. Subject lines that read "Hi Sexy" or "Hello Pretty."

2. Vague compliments that could apply to anyone ("you have great features!").

3. The phrase "age is only a number."

Current mood:  accomplished
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

I did not want to go to my tennis lesson tonight!  It's dark, it's cold, I'm tired, I'm stressed and in a bad mood from work, I have things to do around the house:  those are all the reasons not to go.

But, after I made myself go to my lesson, I felt good both physically and mentally, and I'm glad I went.  And because my instructor has set aside his time for me, I'm not going to flake out, so I'm forced to at least get a half hour of exercise (doing something fun) every week, if nothing else.

If you hate exercising like I hate exercising, I strongly recommend you do what I did and take up a fun hobby that will get you doing something physical.  According to the world famous Mayo Clinic, there are many more benefits to exercising than just burning calories.  Here are a few.  Excerise:

- releases chemicals in the brain that improve your mood,

- combats heart disease, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, some types of cancer, and insomnia, and

- increases your energy level, even in between exercise days.

What hobby have you always wanted to try but didn't that would get you moving?

Current mood:  working

Had a fairly good weekend. Decided to 1) put in a minimum of 24 hours a week on my web stuff (keep in mind I work a 40-hour job, too), and 2) track my hours.  Started tracking on Wednesday & surpassed 24 hours just since then, but much of it is behind-the-scenes work, so in a way it feels like I haven't done anything!

In fact, when I get done writing this post, I need to go and log some time on my fashion blog (justaformality.com) as I let it go a couple of days without any new posts (I don't like doing that, especially since this is the blog that I get paid for).

For all the stuff I got done, there, of course, are tons of things I meant to get to this weekend and didn't.  Didn't go see my dad, didn't run some errands, didn't get my nails done (need it bad), didn't clean the bathroom.

I did manage to spend some time in the kitchen, which I enjoy.  Made some apple scones, fudge, and turkey pita sandwiches.  The sandwiches are super easy if you're looking for fast and easy dinner ideas

EASY DINNER:  TURKEY PITA

ingredients: deli turkey, pita bread, monterey jack cheese, lettuce, sprouts, italian dressing

Get some deli turkey sliced about 1/2 inch thick, then cut it into cubes.  Cut up some lettuce, shred some monterey jack cheese, and add sprouts.  Stuff it all in a pita or leave the ingredients separate and let everyone make their own.  Once the pita is stuffed, sprinkle everything inside it with a little bit of italian dressing (I like Paul Neuman's).  Sooo yummy and sooo easy.

Current mood:  breezy

In an effort to be more web accessible, I'm getting into some of the more fun sites on the web, like myspace.  Part of this is because I want to be better able to connect with the people who read my fashion blog justaformality.com, and part of it is because it's just fun.

A big thank you to webfetti.com for helping me to de-uglify my myspace page.  I'd also like to point out that the thumbnail of my pic is adding weird lines/bags under my eyes that aren't there!  It looks kinda scary -- not sure how to fix that.

Look for more posts here about me, life in The O.C., fashion, cooking, my evil cat, and other randomness.

One last thought/request/pitiful plea for acceptance:  if you want to add me as your myspace friend so I don't look like a friendless loser, that would be just awesome.  In the words of Kip Dynamite...peace out.
