Contest Categories
Personal Interview:
Personal Interview will take place at The Brickhouse Bar at 201 W. Illinois, Evansville, Indiana (room to be announced at registration) at 2:00 PM CST on Saturday November 7, 2009. Each contestant will be interviewed individually by the judging panel. The purpose of the Personal Interview in the USofA system is to allow the judges some insight into the character of each contestant. During the interview, the judges are also afforded the opportunity to evaluate each contestants basic qualities, such as intelligence, ability to communicate, attitude, composure, etc. The judges may also gather information about a contestants professional or personal life.
The basic nature of the interview is intended to be casual and relaxed. The suggested attire for the interview is business causal day wear, male or female; however, each contestant should select clothing in which she feels at ease. You should dress as you would for a professional interview.
Presentation:
This will be a simple parade of contestants with the theme of "Heroes and Villains(Limited Edition)" Be creative and think "outside the box". Do your research on the heroes and villains of the comic book world. Let's see some real creativity here!!!! Let your imagination go WILD on this. This category will not be judged toward winning the contest, but, a winner will be selected from this. (see prize package)
Talent:
As described in sections 4 and 5 of the Rules and Regulations.
Creative Evening Wear:
For Creative Evening Wear, think: Hollywood Premire "Red Carpet Attire". Creative Evening Wear may be of any color or style; however, they must incorporate pants and a jacket. Creative Evening Wear should not be overdone to the point of being a costume. It should be believable to the point that you might see the outfit at a major Red Carpet event.
Example: If you were going to an International Leather Premier, you would wear evening wear made from Leather or accessorize with it.
If you were going to the MTV, BET, Grammy Awards,  CMT or any like this, you would choose your evening wear based on the genre of music you listen to...ie, Marilyn Manson, P-Diddy, Kenny Chesney,  SuperNova, Techno..etc.....
Contestants are urged to research examples of Creative "Red Carpet" Evening Wear by searching their genre on the internet or watching Red Carpet events on television.
Contestants will be judged on originality, presentation, technicality and fit. You MUST provide you own music for this on a seperate CD with on Track 1 being this music,        please limit it to no more than 2-1/2 minutes.
