I left my job of 13 years On Friday the 13th at 13 o'clock - yes, they use military time, even though no one but me was ever very apt at making the necessary calculations.
I'm freelancing. I see myself - an extravagant me in a wild cape and chain maille lance in hand. Dauntingly fearless. Freelance. And fancy free.

Recently I realized (because my lover has a cat and I'm over there a lot) that I've gotten over my cat allergies, so I adopted a kitty of my own and now I'm experiencing all the joys of kitty love. I made a scratching post a couple weeks ago and today I took some pictures to post on Craftster. This week Chris is in Florida so I have his cat Molly staying with me too, she's the tabby cat in the second picture. My cat Squeakers is the longhair gray and white kitty sitting on the couch. Please follow this link to see them.

He can't smoke in the hotel room, so he took his pj's. We had a quick drink at the airport bar, Billy's, then kissed not so much like lovers, but like people in love. In love it doesn't matter, the distance. Meaning, it will be hard but we will do what we have to do, and take care of each other by making it day after day on our own.
...until we can be together again....
He hooked up the web-cam thinking that while he's away he'd spy on the cat periodically, but I'm taking her to my house instead so I'll be the one he'll see. So during the next two weeks I'll be stopping by to tidy up this and that and be brave, sweet, and naughty, aching for him to come home to me soon.

Last year I tried to devise my own pattern for making sweater mittens, becuase I couldn't find anything on the internet that had a decent thumb structure. I thought I'd look again, and this tutorial I came across is pretty good. I've been making mittens all morning. Click here to see the demo.Love, Momo

It happened so fast, that final moment I caught you and held you strong over my shoulder like a mama cat, hurting and helping, the heart unwinding from the soul, leaving scratches there.
Yesterday's skies were Russian Blue, Angel, I saw you in them.
Thank you for owning me, for every moment, for your great love. Thank you, Angel. Thank you. Meow.

I tried 5-HTP today. It gave me a burst of mellow followed by the gotta-nap feeling, like food coma but without the bingeing. It increases seratonin and decreases appetite. Boo-yah! Did I say "Boo-yah" in context? I don't think I've ever used that term before. I'm sleepy. That's the downside. It's got the same chemical in it as in cheese, or turkey, that makes you feel like napping. I'll get a good night's sleep tonight, for sure.
I got on the scale this morning. I'm down about five pounds, which is a big surprise. I thought I'd gained weight. I've been under so much stress and haven't been adjusting that well to my new routine. There have been a couple late night KFC binges in the past weeks, and ice cream, and it's Affy Tapple season. I got on again and off again, moving the scale around the bathroom floor and even into another room because I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even naked, and I'm retaining water but according to that, I'm down under 180 finally. That's the goal I'd had in mind, because according to the American Heart Association anything over 180 and I'd be not just over- weight, but obese. I'd throw in another boo-yah if I were more confident that I was using it right.
Is it time to say good-bye to summer? Today I put my jeans on in I don't know how long, like revisiting old acquaintences after such a long time it's confusing, oddly familiar. They fit just fine, but I have to suck in the big muffin top. Either my period's about to start - or not. I'm wearing a tight shirt today just because today I'm not obese, and my hair's punked up like in Manga. I wore a tight shirt today because I still can.
Tomorrow's my little girls birthday. She's 8. I'm going to get her a balloon before picking her up after school. Take her out for dinner, Build-A-Bear coupon in hand. Tomorrow I'm bringing home a yellow parakeet in her honor. She doesn't know this, it's a surprise. She'll think her birthday stuff is done, then I'll drag her out with me to the house where they're giving it away. It's a freecycled bird. Gabby. I'm so excited. Now it won't be so quiet in the house on the days when I don't work and my little one's in school. What better fix for the empty nest.
I'm in and out of awakedness. I don't think it's the 5-HTP, just the afternoon slump. I'm trying to avoid caffeine, upping my green tea intake and I plan to go on an apple cider regime for a while to change my ph, see if it helps. I'll just have to tough it out. Well - time to go get that balloon.
