Isto is a guitarist/singer/composer/performer. Originally from Hamilton, NY, he studied Music at Wesleyan University, and now lives in Brooklyn. In 2007, he travelled to other planets.

Isto has written more than 400 songs, not including his "serious" music. His "serious" music is usually much sillier than his non-serious music. Most of Isto's music is in some sense absurd. Isto's songs that are not obviously absurd become absurd when placed in the context of his other songs. Isto views every performance as a musical composition, and considers his songs, improvisations, spoken word segments, silence and noise to be the elements from which he builds his complete compositions. These complete compositions are improvised, even when they are made up mostly of pre-written songs.
