Just a kinda quickie about whats cracking in The Kemistry realm...


So we have The Tour EP out and about at the moment, we weren't web savvy enough when it was release so we will be RE-releasing that shizzle on the 24th of August on Itunes!!! Get a copy, it's got some schexy tunes on it...

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of ya'll who have been repping and checking us out at our live shows, love to see your faces singing along to 'The Tube' and 'window'.

The Kemistry ‘The Tour EP’

The Kemistry have been together for just over a year and after the departure of the groups MC ‘Smokey’, the remaining duo (Kemi & Bare Beats) have knuckled down to embellish on their sound putting together the perfect avant-garde, multi-genre EP.

This EP, 'The Tour EP' is an accomplished combination of intelligent, honest lyrics, written and sung by Kemi, concocted with hunting bass and undertones, provided by abstruse beat maker; Bare Beats.

Sup people,

Been kinda busy. Loving the summer. And getting ready to let ya'll have a listen to our tour CD. Bare Beats has dark circles under his eyes from working hard on getting the beats 'just right'. Kemi has basically been drunk the whole time...

*sigh*

Should be ready next month anyway - it has some sexy tracks on it (unheard), so holla and get involved when it's ready.

Meanwhile we will still be performing at London shows. Here are our dates thus far (we'll update you on others of course...)

Smokey is sadly no longer with 'The Kemistry', he's taking time out to concentrate on his solo album which is set for release later this year on a bare faced hip hop flex called 'Haunted by the Hundreds'.

Before his departure we strapped this amazing track 'The Core' were Smokes rhymes put many to shame.

If UK Hip Hop is going to get noticed by the usual ignorant people who walk the streets of our country listening to the Chris Moyles podcast then surely it’s going to be music like The Kemistry’s that will do the job.

Sure, everyone knows Estelle now, but she got told to drop the rapping by her US label honchos. Everyone knows The Streets and Dizzee, but they’re not representative of the whole scene. Some people even know Sway, Lethal Bizzle and Roots Manuva but they don’t know the half of it.

Bonafide Hip Hop producer Bare Beats and MC/producer Smokey hold down the Hip Hop side of things on this upbeat, melodic, ever so slightly trip-hop tinged EP. Kemi brings type of soulful female vocals that are currently in vogue thanks to the likes of Adele and Amy Winehouse.

The production here is top notch, by which I mean very professional sounding. Smokey handles upbeat BPMs expertly on ‘Searching’ and ‘Greed & Arrogance’ whilst Kemi takes the helm on ‘Window’ and ‘shrinking Fear’. ‘Mascot’ has a Massive Attack meets Mendelssohn sound to it – a thing of blunted beauty transformed by Smokey’s angered sentiments.

‘The Kemistry EP’ is available to download now at itunes, Emusic and Amazon and I’d recommend any forward thinking Hip Hop fan to buy it – this is credible UK Hip Hop with mass appeal.

The Kemistry have put together a little ep that showcases their sound in 20 minutes, with an album completed in the pipeline this trio are going to make waves. With Bare Beats and Smokey's heavy hard hitting beats, made with provoked passion and Kemi's soulful & sometimes dark lyrics make this little ep the perfect introduction to 'The Kemistry' and with the aim of making a series of albums this group are definitely something to look out for.
