STEPHEN COCHRAN’S COUNTRY MUSIC
STAR RISES AS HE RAISES FUNDS FOR VETERANS
Latest Single “Wal-Mart Flowers”
Featured in People Magazine
Nashville – With a new single, "Wal-Mart
Flowers," currently hitting the airwaves, rising country star Stephen
Cochran has been burning up the road and running back to the studio lately to
complete his highly anticipated sophomore album. But this Memorial Day weekend,
the singer will put everything on hold and head to Pasadena, Texas to help
severely injured servicemen and women. As a decorated Marine veteran of
campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, Cochran is proud to be part of a concert
event dedicated to raising funds to build new homes in the Texas Bay
area for severely wounded service members.
Co-sponsored by the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, the Bay Area
Builders Association, KILT-FM, and Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo
Association, the "Bands for Brothers and Sisters Concert" will
feature Stephen Cochran and his band, the New Country Outlaws, sharing the
stage with Texas favorites the Randy Rogers Band, Todd Fritsch, Cowboy Troy,
Todd Phelps, Roger Creager and Official MC, JR Martinez, familiar to daytime
TV fans as Brot Monroe from ABC's All My Children. The concert event will
take place during Memorial Day weekend on May 23 at the Pasadena Livestock Show
& Rodeo Grounds.
Cochran is also excited about his participation in "I-ROQ
Baghdad," the second annual ROCKBAND 2 tournament designed to assist in improving
morale, welfare and recreation of the U.S. Armed Service Men and Women housed
at Victory Base Complex Baghdad. MTV Games, Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon and
Microsoft Federal Marketing in partnership with Xbox 360 have brought back this
exciting tournament to the troops for a second straight year. Cochran will be
one of several celebrities recording video "shout-outs" to the
troops. He will be taping a troop dedication live from the stage during a June 5th concert in
Louisiana.
"My country music career is important to me, and I work hard at
it," Cochran says. "But I know that I would not have the freedom to
pursue my dream without the huge sacrifices made by the brave men and women of
America's armed forces. I'm proud to be able to help in any way I can."
Throughout his fast-moving career, Cochran has taken every opportunity
to do just that, going out of his way to perform countless benefit shows for
his fellow veterans and raising funds to improve their lives and help them
re-adapt to civilian life. Along the way, he's become one of country music's
brightest lights. In fact, the singer/songwriter is featured in the current
issue of People magazine. The
magazine featured Cochran's latest single, "Wal-Mart Flowers" in one
of their most coveted spots as a "Download This Now" pick. For more
