Hey there everybody, Hope you've all been well! Firstly, we are really missing not playing, but we think it will be worth it in the long run....hopefully we'll see you all early next year. If so, it will be something special I promise! Secondly, we had the honour of attending the ARIAS in November. We had a blast! Check out the pics. Stretch hummers, Robbie Williams, Keith Urban and 5/10 food....Also, despite the pics, Josh and Colin aren't actually dating..... Have a great, safe Christmas. Don't forget us! Keep listening! Much love, Starlight Theatre.

Hey peeps,
Heres my second effort. Again, would love your thoughts if you should have any...
'The Only Certainty'
The only thing certain about life is death. When? Where? How? You can't know. Even if you decided to take your own (as to feel as though you have control over it), it's always possible that you could slip and hit your head on the way to the noose...(as morbid as this may sound). So whats the point then of engaging, building or achieving anything in this life when it could taken from you at any moment? How hard it becomes to prioritize properly whats really important!
After all, money won't cry tears into your death bed or be holding your hand as you slowly fade away (says the hippie that doesn't work at all), but theres no point in your children dying young due to starvation on account of having none (money) (says the 'career' man who works late every night).
It will always be a balance and one that we should do our best to keep in check as best we can. Even in my finer, more balanced moments though, there always seems to be a lingering guilt that theres something I'm forgetting..
For me it would seem that the best you can do is love your girl, your God and chase your passions with all you can afford. Then do your best to rest knowing that this is enough. For some people (me..) a lot harder then it sounds.
Peace,
Colin.

"This is deeply perplexing music; if you can imagine Kelly Clarkson-esque inspirational rock as melded with One Perfect Sunrise-era Orbital and a touch of Nashville crossover and Bryan Adams-ish vocals, you're getting close, but still miles away from the reality of True Love Stories. Starlight Theatre begin this EP with a plinky introduction (An Introduction, no less) that then leads in to How Long, which I am genuinely flummoxed by; I can;t work out if it's sheer genius, or the most unwieldy mashing together of sounds since I can't remember".

Current mood: creative
Starlight Theatre’s debut EP True Love Stories Never Have Endings is one addictive recording. I listened to it four times straight this morning and still didn’t get my fill. Of course, part of that is its brief length. With the four tracks clocking in at around the four-minute mark, it really is over before you know it. But once the silence set in, I was ready to go again. If I had any criticism of the EP, it’s that the songs are a little samey. Yet when each tune is this much fun, I don’t really mind the lack of variety. I’d hope to see more light and shade in an album, but the formula works fine for a quickie EP. The melodic rock tunes compel you to punch your fists in the air, while the synthesizers add just a dash of retro flair. The energy levels are turned up to eleven, making me wonder just how hard these guys would rock in the live arena.
True Love Stories Never Have Endings is seriously compelling, and like all good EPs, it leaves me wanting more.

Category: Life
Hey people far and wide that read our blog,
My name is Colin. I play guitar and song write for Starlight Theatre. Every so often I going to share some thoughts. Simply that. It may be a little sporadic and all over the place at times, but thats the nature of the mind really isn't it?
It will often be a little darker then perhaps you might think, but it will be honest. Sometimes it will be paragraphs, sometimes just a line or too. Either way, I would love your thoughts. Hopefully it will be a chance to grab onto something real. I worked out once, that for our myspace, only one in 150 people who read our blog leave a comment. Talk to me and I will certainly talk back!
Welcome to what I'm calling 'A Blog For Me and You'. The first one is titled 'Infancy and Me'.
'Infancy and Me'
So many of us despite our age, seem to be stuck in eternal infancy. This becomes so evident through the selfishness that we have become acustomed too; for is there anything more child like then "me, me, me"?
You see it all the time, from top level politics to 15 year old kitchen hands working at McDonalds. Everyone looking our for number one. Is this just the Western world though?
People marry for better or for worse but not for good, at least it would seem....
I know that when I'm alone with my mind and thoughts for too long (a really long drive for example), it often scares me, nearly to the point of self loathing, to know who I really am, or at least could be if my thoughts became reality...
Hope all is well with all of you,
Colin.

Current mood: disappointed
It is with deep regret that we announce that Starlight Theatre won’t be launching their new record on the 31st of October at the Princess Theatre. Due to circumstances largely beyond the bands control, the show will be postponed to early 2010. All tickets will be fully refunded. Sincerest apologies to everyone who was contributing their valuable time, skills and resources to a show that we had been looking forward to playing all year. ‘Starlight Theatre’

Hey lovely people, Thanks so much for all the great feedback we've been getting on 'Clear View'. Means heaps. Make sure you check out the other song we just put up today called 'How Long'. Would love your thoughts! Secondly, we are extremely keen to finally launch our new record in Brisbane. We've been sitting on it for ages but the time to let it out is soon approaching (comming out on AAA Entertainment/MGM Distribution). It's going to be great but we would love you help to make it everything it could possibly be! Heres a few steps that would be a great help to us: 1. TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO BE AT THE PRINCESS THEATRE ON THE 31st OCTOBER! (and buy your tix presale from oztix.com) 2. Drown the internet with the picture below! (Grab the code if you need it from the 'posters' section of our myspace pics) 3. Join the Starlight street team to see what else you can do! (our first myspace friend) Thanks again. You make it all so good! Peace, Colin, Josh, Paul, Justin.

Hey Guys,
I just want to send a shout out to everyone that came to the ..Newcastle.. and ....Sydney.... shows last weekend. It’s nice to know a band from the sunny state of QLD can come down and still have a good time with you all. Things are already in the works, so it shouldn’t be too long before we see you all again soon.
Also thanks to the Starting Sunday boys! You guys are champs and we look forward to playing ....Melbourne.... with you next weekend.
On that note . . . . If you are in ....Melbourne.... next weekend, make sure you come and say hi. It would be nice to see you all out in force at a show, so check the myspace for details.
Finally everything is set for the EP Launch . . . It’s only 4 and bit weeks away. So everyone in ....Brisbane...., October 31st, the Princess Theatre is where you need to be. This will be the show where you can see what we have been doing for the last 6 months. We have our friends Starting Sunday, My Future Lies and Finabah playing with us. So it would mean the world to us, if you could take some time out of your Saturday night and come spend a few hours with us. All the details are on the myspace but tickets have been selling well, so www.oztix.com.au so you don’t miss out.
See you all soon,
Josh, Colin, Paul and Justin ‘Starlight Theatre’

Current mood: contemplative
Hey Everyone, everywhere! We are so excited to be alive right now! Today we become just that little bit closer to where we want to be as a band.
Please come check out our first single 'Clear View' (not as some of you may have known it). Mixed by JR McNeely who also just finished up mixing the new 'Paramore' record. Would love your thouhts!
Falling Short is no more. Starlight Theatre is here. Get ready for it!
See you all soon!
Colin, Josh, Paul and Justin!
p.s. A little behind the name change.
For the longest time we've been unhappy with the Falling Short title. Always sounded to punk...garage....everything we didn't want to be.
We would have changed it sooner but could never agree on anything else.
Now, with a new singer and our first national release, it was time. Addtionally, we just needed the refreshment.
What we have now is four songs that we couldn't be prouder of. Certainly our best to date. We only have one up for now. More after the launch.
Speaking of the launch...Oct 31 @ The Princess (all ages). We've got My Future Lies and Finabah along for the ride. Put it in your diary, we would love to have you along.
We would love Starlight Theatre to be an experience as opposed to just another rock show. Whether we get there or not will be up to you. Come and see for yourself.
Peace.
