Hi all, we entered the Japanese charts with "The 8th Sin"! To make it easy I simply copy/pasted my comments from the official press release by Century Media:

"Wow is simply all I can come up with at the moment - charting on position 68 domestically in Japan and 28 among international acts is simply mind-blowing! Now we really look forward even more to returning to Japan once again - this time to play the Loud Park Festival in October.

We also can't wait to start our busy fall headlining schedule in Sweden and Europe. I am quite confident that 2007 and 2008 will mark the biggest years in the history of the band. "The 8th Sin" already out-sold "Grand Illusion"...and it hasn't even been out a month in some territories! See you on tour, friends - and thanks a bunch to everyone for picking up "The 8th Sin" - we will pay you back by playing even louder, harder and longer than ever before! Noc 'em All! /NILS

This is the official press release from CENTURY MEDIA:

The unstoppable Swedish power-house NOCTURNAL RITES returns with another masterpiece of Melodic Metal entitled "The 8th Sin". The album will be released by Century Media Records on May 28th, 2007. The mystery of the album title can already revealed: The new album is, of course, full of lust, gluttony and pride, but stands above of any wrath, greed, sloth or envy – the 8th not that deadly sin, however, is a deluxe blend of Melodic Metal and Hardrock done the NOCTURNAL RITES way! "The 8th Sin" offers a slightly more modern sound with harsh riffs, huge choruses and the band's classic guitar extravaganza. But don't be afraid of any bad surprises, the new album is 110% NOCTURNAL RITES from start to finish!

Here is the track-listing of "The 8th Sin":

1. Call Out To The World
2. Never Again
3. Not The Only
4. Tell Me
5. Not Like You
6. Leave Me Alone
7. Till I Come Alive
8. Strong Enough
9. Me
10. Pain & Pleasure
11. Fools Parade (Outro)

The new album was produced by the band themselves, co-produced by Shep and mixed by Mattias Eklund & NOCTURNAL RITES at Toontrack Music in Umea, Sweden.

After a successful support tour with Gamma Ray, a Japan headliner tour, another support tour with Nightwish running through Scandinavia and countless headline shows in their home country to promote the band's last album "Grand Illusion", NOCTURNAL RITES are ready to present their newest effort live this summer on various festivals to be followed by a tour in autumn. So don't be greedy and join these sinners for the 8th time.

Releasedates vary a bit in different territories, but mid May is pretty much it! More news soon.

Request list and more...
06-01-09

Nocturnal Rites ended up as number three on P4 Dist's list of most requested bands in 2005. Only Metallica and Iron Maiden beat us! If you don’t remember – in December we were also voted as the Best Metal Band 2005.

Also, for you people living in or near Borlänge, Sweden - don't forget the newly added show on February 4th. Till then, play loud!

Happy New Year!

2005 has been a busy year for us - we have written and recorded "Grand Illusion", played and performed with a symphony orchestra, toured in Europe and in Sweden and Nils N has even squeezed in some Japanese dates as well. But hey - we've had lots of fun and we PROMOISE to get even more busy in 2006!

So from the whole band to everyone out there - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thanks for 2005, we'll be back in 2006!

We are sorry to inform you that no orders outside Sweden can be sent out before Christmas. We have hired someone to run the shop for us and until we have all the tools and details, the shop is unfortunately down. Everyone that has placed an order will be contacted later on to see if you still are interested.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you all come back and shop here when we’re up and running. We will be filling up with some new shirts and things in early 2006 and we PROMISE that things will run smoothly from then on.

The video for "Still Alive" is nearing completion and should be ready for broadcast right after New Year's sometime!

We are right now enjoying a well deserved break and will be relaxing, drinking Glögg and having a good time. We wish you all the same - enjoy the holiday season!

Also, we will be back soon and announce some new tourdates. Till then - Merry Christmas! We love you all! Smile

We won the P4 Dist (a national radio show in Sweden) award for best metal band 2005 this weekend. This of course feels very rewarding and awesome!

In other news, we will start shooting our second video off "Grand Illusion" today, Monday, December 5th. The video will be for the song "Still Alive" and Owe Lingvall will be directing once again. More news on this as they unfold. Pictures from the shoot will be up shortly.

Don't forget that we will wrap up the first leg of our Swedish tour in our hometown of Umeå on January 28th 2006. This show will be HUGE and SPECTACULAR! Don't miss it.

Hey all, we had a great time in Boden at the Nordic Rage Festival. Next stops will be Gävle and Motala Metal Festival. I strongly recommend you to come! We are on fire, dammit!

Also, Nils Norberg had a very successful and fun time in Japan. He did some great performances at the Musicial Instruments Fair as well as lots of interviews related to "Grand Illusion". This baby will go platinum Wink

Also (again), we got word that our show from Gates of Metal will air on P3 Live on December 1st. This is national Swedish radio, but it also streams from their website. More info and a reminder when we're closer to this date.

See you all soon and remember to play loud!
