Hi all,

You may or may not know me, I am Rob's girlfriend and Tom has let me post a blog on here just to say thanks and also hopefully help you all as I know everyone is grieving not just me.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for all the tributes, thoughts and well wishes. I know that Rob would be amazed and touched by how many people have been in contact. He was such a special person but I don’t think he really realized how many people out there he would effect.

Finally as I have told those close to me, as far as I can tell he didn’t suffer, he went quickly and most importantly just before he went to sleep that night we both told each other how much we loved each other. We have to try and hold on to those small things that are positive about it and one day so I am told it will become easier and we can look back at the good times and the fond memories.

I still cant believe it has happened really, he was the bestest boyfriend in the world and I told him so. He couldn’t have been more loved by not just me, but his family and friends. I hope he is still noodling with his guitar, where ever he may be xxx

There was a moving tribute to Rob on the Friday BBC Hereford and Worcester last Friday. Thanks to everyone who said such kind words on the show, it's comforting to know that Rob was so loved and respected by everyone.

There is a tribute on http://www.bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester/content/articles/2009/01/09/friday_session_090109_feature.shtml

Hiya folks!

Merry Chistmas to one and all!

I should really comment on our Christmas gigs, and I probably will, but not just yet! Suffice to say Meg are on our Christmas hols now ;)

We have supplied a couple of tracks for Mark Adams (Pete from AWWBLOT's brother) who has done some promotional work for the University of Worcester.

Check out the clips at http://release.worc.ac.uk/watch.php?r=LIUPSY9H&s=Y

Ours are 'Students & The City' and the 'Forensics' ones

Happy viewing!

Right then!

As you may have noticed Meg's Profile page has now gone a bit Christmassy... the Christmas single 'Another Merry Christmas' is on the player and the Meg advent calender is now the background. Nice...

Anyone who is not on the mailing list pop on down to www.wearemeg.co.uk to get yourself on the mailing list to recieve a nice little Christmas present from Meg. Seriously... off you go then!

We have two Christmas gigs lined up, the first being at The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham on 13th December, really looking forward to this one, we have played there many times but not for ages (we had our 5th Birthday party there) and there are some great bands on. Please come on down and spread your Christmas cheer! :D I can't wait. Most excited I've been about a gig in aaaaaaaaaages!

Secondly we are lined up to play The Sutton Arms in our homeland of Kidderminster on 18th of December with super awesome Mechanimal in support. I'm interested just to see what Toby (Mechanimal) does really, some awesome sounds he makes.

Hope to see you guys at one of the gigs or otherwise over the festive period.

Well, it's nearly the end of October now, what's been going on?

As previously reported we lost the real Meg at the start of September. It still weighs on me at times. I'm a girl, I know.

Since then we have played a couple of shows, one at The Old Wharf in Digbeth with the lovely Cobweb Dilemmas. We had a really awesome night, despite the Webs ending up playing a lot later than we all expected and Tom and I getting locked out of the venue and missing them... We also played The Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove, what a spectacular place that is for a Meg to play at. Wish more people had turned up but it was amazing to play there. If it was ever packed in there I think it would be an awesome show.

Welcome Luke, Mike and Amanda to the Meg live experience! Thanks for coming! And many thanks to Andy O'Hare for your continued support and also for the photos (it proved a lifesaver as we had no other snappers in the crowd).

Check out new pics in the Meg Live gallery!

I've been working on the artwork for Another Merry Christmas, which we are going to put out later in the year but are going to do a bit of promotion for now.

Everyone on the Meg Mailing list we be receiving a special Christmas treat of a Meg based fashion! So if you aren't already signed up do it here...

If that doesn't work as a link you'll have to cut and paste it, I never could figure all this stuff out...

I note it appears that people do actually have a read of this here blog, once in a while. It would be really sweet if you would leave a message and say hi, or something :) Might inspire me to blog a bit more often too...

As regards the weather : Brrrr! Chilly. I've got my window open cos of the smoking, haven't got the heating on but my feet are telling me that heat is definitely being let out (and not the cold being let in as I'm sure my Mom used to say). It's fricking freezing in here Mr Bigglesworth!

Right, I'm off to fry some frying steak which I will then slice and place atop some Kimchi noodles... and eat. Kick ass!

On Tuesday 2nd September my beautiful black cat Meg (and Meg the band's mascot) was put to sleep. She was 17 years old, I've had her since I was 16. That's over half my life... She had a tumor in the head and things got complicated... She started to suffer and although she was still very much herself she was becoming plagued with a failing body. We couldn't let her suffer. I've lost my baby. I'm so f**king gutted. Not much else to be said except I miss her very much and hope she is creating havoc in kitty heaven.

Well it's been a few days now and I think I can now write it up without sounding too downbeat. It was a bit of a shocker to be honest. Allan enjoyed the gig because he had new leads and for once wasn't cutting out every five minutes. Obviously it's only taken him 7 years to figure this out! ;)

Chef put on an awesome visual accompaniment courtesy of his computer jiggery pokery and the massive screen behind the stage. All sorts of Meg related pictures flashed up and swooshed around, it was awesome. We played Bubble Boy and and then as we were playing the words Bubble Boy were flashed up, impressive I thought. Even more so was the fact that we have never played Jet Set Willy at The Tardebigge and when we did Chef had a screen shot of Jet Set Willy up there. How the hell.... I should talk to him really, I'm really quite curious.

I took the little orange Frankenstein Jane 'Bomber' Bomber got me for my birthday. He did not provide us with much luck. And he dived off my amp twice. Think he was trying to top himself...

As the set wore on the lovely people who were standing at the front disappeared and applause after songs virtually stopped. Bit gutting really. I almost finished the set early but ever the 'professionals' we played to the end. For some reason the keyboards were ridiculously loud in the monitors, really deafening and painful, which was odd because they were fine in soundcheck. I couldn't really hear the guitar at all and so I think I made several balls ups. Couldn't hear much else either so don't know much about the whole thing really.

Afterwards, Emily and Becky (the Meg ears in the crowd) said the sound offstage (which we had presumed to be ok) was bloody awful. They have listened to us dozens of times but said it was painfully bad and a bit embarassing because they know what we should sound like. Even they were hoping we would stop! At least it went some way to explaining the apathetic crowd response.

Barry, the sound guy is such a smashing bloke, I know he was trying to isolate some feedback, not realising that it was just me making my guitar feedback on purpose. So that contributed.

Anyway, nuff said. Thanks for listening, just be glad you weren't listening last Thursday ;)

Much love,

Rob

For the first time in it's history 1147 are going to allow Meg to be proper noisy in the Cellar Bar. Dum dum dum!!! It may be with a scaled down drumkit and slightly smaller amps than our own kit but Meg are going to be joyously loud in the comfy little friendly venue. It's gonna be awesome. And there will be some lovely 1147 style acoustic gubbins going ..hand too. Not sure exactly of our stage time but it will be after nine and before ten. Hope some of you lovely folk can make it down x x
