ProgPower USA's "Mid-Week Mayhem Announcement

ProgPower USA's "Mid-Week Mayhem" will return to The Loft on September 9th to commence the week's traditional festivities.

Pagan Maximus will kick of the show with an acoustic jam. The set will feature members of both Pagan's Mind and Circus Maximus on stage together for the first and only time. Fans can expect unique versions of songs from each band's perspective catalog as well as favorite covers.

Mindcrime will then follow with a performance of "Operation: Mindcrime" in it's entirety. The Queensrcyhe tribute band features Chris Salinas (Zero Hour) on vocals.

Fans can then take the spotlight as "Live Queensryche Karaoke" will continue with Mindcrime. Fans, band members, and "surprise guests" will then join the band on stage to perform songs all the way through the "Promised Land" (Promoter Glenn Harveston has banned all Queensryche songs post-Promised Land era).

Many of you probably know that most of the members of Mindcrime also play in the original band KRUCIBLE.  Here is an announcement about KRUCIBLE -

Houston-based prog/power band KRUCIBLE is pleased to announce the addition of legendary vocalist and Nightmare Records owner Lance King (Avian, Shining Star ex-Balance of Power/Pyramaze).  The band, whose members also include Eric Halpern (ex-Leatherwolf/Helstar) , ProgPower Showcase promoter Shane Dubose (ex-Outworld/Cea Serin/Stride) on bass , guitarist  Don LaFon (Six Minute Century),  keyboardist Adam Rawlings (Victim, ex-Tyton) and drummer Jeff Baniak (ex-Thrive) will make their debut appearance
with Lance early this summer. Dates to be announced soon.

KRUCIBLE is in the writing process at the moment, and the performances will be a showcase of new material
and perhaps a surprise thrown in for good measure. KRUCIBLE will be recording for a new release to be shopped to worldwide labels later this year, speculating a debut release in early to mid 2008.

Myspace song samples with previous singer Chris Salinas (ZERO HOUR, MINDCRIME) are now online,
samples with Lance King....soon to be available!

Mindcrime - Rock House Live, 10/14/06
Anyone unlucky enough to have missed Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime II tour last month got a second chance to rock out to their favorite 'Ryche tunes when the world's best Queensryche tribute band, Houston's Mindcrime returned to Dallas. If you closed your eyes, you'd swear you went back in time to hear Empire-era Queensryche play a dream set list.
Mindcrime features the incredible vocal talents of San Antonio's Chris Salinas (Power of Omens/Zero Hour), who sounds exactly like Geoff Tate. The only difference is Salinas can still hit all the high notes in songs like "Queen of the Ryche" and "The Lady Wore Black." Guitarist Eric Halpern (Leatherwolf/Hellstar), Shane Dubose (bass), Don LaFon (guitar), Craig LeMay (drums) and Adam Rawlings (keyboards) were also dead on. Highlights included "I Don't Believe In Love," "Eyes of A Stranger," "Jet City Woman," and QR signature song, "Take Hold of the Flame." (Andy Laudano) -HarderBeat Magazine, Dallas------------------------------------------------------------MINDCRIME REVIEW – by Ben McCulloh (Austin metalhead) – from Tiffany's 8/6 with Drifter. "I wanted to reiterate how good that show was on Saturday. The sound was great--the crowd was great--the bands were AWESOME--perhaps never having sounded better to me. As I told you, I was skeptical about the sound given the Riot show in May, but ya'll (or somebody) worked all that out to a "T". It was as close to a perfect "10" as I think you could get. I would think that you'd have to consider doing a repeat show there again. " -------------------------------------------------------------- Mindcrime -Indigo, Dallas -11/22/03 When singer Tom Calandra retired from Houston's Z-Lot-Z, fans figured that would also be the end of the band's side project, the awesome Queensryche tribute, Mindcrime. Thankfully, they were wrong, as Mindcrime returned better than ever with new singer Chris Salinas (Power of Omens from San Antonio). His vocals were so perfect that, if you closed your eyes, you'd swear it was Geoff Tate! Add to that Eric Halpern, who plays original QR guitarist, Chris DeGarmo's leads and solos better than either of Chris' replacements. Since Mindcrime played a MUCH stronger set list than QR did on their last tour, Mindcrime was almost better than the real thing! Chris, Eric, Gregg Gill (guitar), Van Eric Turner (drums), Joe Morgan (bass) and Adam Rawlings (keyboards) played favorites including "Take Hold of the Flame," "Lady Wore Black," "Queen of the Ryche" and "Silent Lucidity." (Andy Laudano) Harder Beat - Dallas, TX -------------------------------------------------------------- Mindcrime: A Tribute to Queensryche September 20th, 2003 at Forgetta 'bout it As an avid Queensryche fan, I saw Queensryche at Verizon this past spring and was bitterly disappointed. I yearned to hear the songs I loved played with the integrity and grit they originally displayed. Not only did the band (Queensryche) display marginal effort, many of the songs that endeared them to me were abandoned completely. I felt like crying that night and probably did when we cranked "QUEEN OF THE RYCHE" that night for nostalgia's sake.... I originally heard about the "MINDCRIME" show a couple of months ago and I told myself then that I would not miss it. I had seen "MINDCRIME" a few months back with original Z-Lot-Z line up including front man, Tom Calandra and I was impressed. Only a few short weeks later, I heard Tom would be "retiring" - I was so distraught, I wrote him a rambling litany as to why that should not be. My downtrodden state did not last long, shortly thereafter I heard the news of "MINDCRIME's" new frontman, Chris Salinas who also fronts San Antonio-based band, Power of Omens. Word gets around and the word was that this dude was a "bad-ass". I went to the "Power of Omens" site and caught a sample of Chris's chops and his presentation raised a couple of eyebrows (mine) - I was, like, "yeah, okay, but let's see if you can pull that off live!" At Forgetta 'Bout It that night, there was electricity in the air as "Houston's faithful" (fans) filed in and marked their places in the room. The suds were flowing and friends and acquaintances were greeting each other with hugs, high fives and the usual rock n' roll banter. The members of "Mystic Cross" did a fine job of getting the crowd ready for the headlining act, with their tribute to Dio "Evil or Divine." They played all of Dio's well known numbers as well as a couple more obscure pieces so Dio fans were satisfied that night. After "Evil or Divine", Houston's Golden Son, James Rivera, ascended the stage and introduced "Mindcrime". By that time the place was packed and the mood was jovial, to say the least. Many of us die-hards had really anticipated this night and "Mindcrime" came through with flying colors. As the first strains of "Revolution Calling" rang, the crowd surged forward and basically remained there for the rest of the set. The entire performance was mesmerizing, to say the least and left me dumbfounded at times due the sheer greatness of what I was witnessing. First of all, there was the mix, first rate from beginning to end. Then there was the obvious attention to detail the band played to retaining the integrity of Queensryche studio presentation of each piece. For those fans who have known and loved Z-Lot-Z for a long while, it is no surprise that the musicianship of each player is nothing short of brilliant. I was particularly taken in by the stellar guitar work implemented by both Eric Halpern and Gregg Gill - I enjoyed the dual lead work in many of the pieces. The techniques and guitar sounds of both Eric and Gregg were so compatible, at times it was if one guitar was being played in harmony with itself. Last but, by no means, the least - Chris Salinas. For those of us who were lucky (blessed) enough to have been there that night, Chris's performance would have made Geoff Tate proud and jealous. Chris did Geoff Tate better than Geoff Tate does. In fact, Mindcrime does Queensryche, better than Queensryche does. Thank God for that. Chris's vocal ability left many of us screaming, literally, at the end of each song. There were too many memorable moments in Chris's performance to mention here - but, for me, the pinnacle of the evening was when the band segued into "Queen of The Ryche" and Chris glided into the piece and sounded just like old Geoff - it brought tears to my eyes because THAT is what I had been longing to hear live for so long. Chris never disappointed, he pulled off each piece with a ferocity and class that I have rarely seen or heard. I left that evening pumped up by what I had seen and heard and with so much hope for the future of "classy" metal and the Houston Metal scene in general, I just want to say "thank you" to "Mindcrime" (Z-Lot-Z / Power of Omens) a hearty salute to you all! Val Seals – Houston, REMUS RADIO -------------------------------------------------------------- MINDCRIME 3-1-2003 Houston's Mindcrime (a tribute to Queensryche) finally hit Dallas again after a two–year hiatus, and it was worth the wait! The club was filled with curious fans wondering if the band could pull it off. Many of us knew they could, and Mindcrime didn't disappoint. They opened with "Revolution Calling" and proceeded to belt out all the classics like "Lady Wore Black," "Eyes Of A Stranger," "Queen Of The Reich" and "Walking In The Shadows." Now let's get one thing clear, these guys are a real band called Z-Lot-Z, that's been around for over a decade and has three CDs out. On this night they debuted a new Z-Lot-Z song, "Night Time," that will appear on a upcoming CD, But the night belonged to Queensryche tunes like "Empire," "Silent Lucidity" and the show closing masterpiece - "Take Hold Of The Flame." When either form of this band appears in our town again, do yourself a favor and make it to the show! Tyr, Balance and the Jake Crawford Band opened the show with killer sets. BREAKING NEWS: Zero Hour Announces New Lead Singer

Jasun, Troy & Mike are very pleased to announce that Chris Salinas is the new vocalist for Zero Hour. The guys couldn't ask for a better person and vocalist for the band. This will be the lineup for many CDs and live appearances.

Zero Hour recorded a track to see how the four members would work together in the studio (Finding out from our past that this is a very, very important issue with band) and that everyone was willing to put in the maximum effort possible. The results are simply the best Zero Hour has ever had and we are excited to share a 2 minute clip of the song "Evidence of the Unseen". Zero Hour has written all the material for "Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond" and looks to track all the material once Zero Hour has finished negotiations for the new disc.

Thank you all for your continued support and this Zero Hour CD WILL push the limits to this date for Zero Hour fans.
