New Chisai J. tunes coming soon!

Hey everyone,

As you know, right now i'm focusing primarily on my band, THE FRAMEWORK, ....BUT, i am still planning to record some brand new CHISAI J. songs, along with a couple shows here and there.  I was hoping to have some new Chisai J. tunes out this past summer, but things with the band took up quite a bit of my time (as we are recording our first full length right now!).  We've also been playing some U.S. dates too.

In terms of the new Chisai J. stuff, i'm trying to find the time.  However, i'm determined to lay down about 4 new songs this winter.

Stay tuned...

Damn i love sunshine, and warm weather!  It’s about time Winter finally left Toronto.  Anyways, i just wanted to give you all an update on what’s up lately.   This past week & weekend, my band, THE FRAMEWORK, played in Ottawa with THE MISSION DISTRICT, and in Windsor (on Saturday) with INFIGHTER & THE VICIOUS GUNS.  It’s always a good time playing shows out of town, and i have to say both shows were great, especially Windsor.  It’s always great when you can play to a packed house, and especially great when it happens out of town, (+ somewhere where you’ve never played before).

Everything is going really amazing for my band, and that is truly exciting!  I do hope to start some new Chisai J. stuff too (hopefully this summer), so don’t worry i haven’t abandoned my solo career.  At the moment, things with THE FW are continually getting more hectic and busy, so i don’t have much time for anything else right now.  THE FW will be releasing a new album in about a month and a bit, so stay tuned.  THE FW’s Remix EP is finally NOW available on itunes as well!!!

Also, for all of you who are interested...

THE FRAMEWORK vs. THE CURE

Song-Mash-UP Kings, TEAM 9 from Australia recently did a song mash up of THE FRAMEWORK’s song "She Think’s I’m Famous" mixed with one of my fav. band’s tunes "Close To Me" by the Cure.  It’s been getting amazing reviews from Music blog sites since they posted it.  Check out the following site, where our tune received a 4.5 out of 5!!!  Also check out Team 9’s site.  Team 9 are the creators of the infamous song mash up of Oasis vs. Green Day (Wonderwall/Blvd. of Broken Dreams)

Check out one of our tune’s reviews:

Well, what can i say...I've now had a couple of days to come down from the high of playing both of the Buckley Tribute shows this past weekend in Toronto.  And i must say, it was an incredible honour for me to play both nights!  I've always been a huge-huge-huge-Jeff Buckley fan, so this was such a meaningfull experience for me.  I can't really express in words how intense the feeling was, on stage, playing Jeff's songs to an audience so familiar with his work, his voice, and his music.  I've wanted to play this show for the past 4 years, and finally i got to!  It was like a dream for me!

Both nights were fantastic, especially Saturday night where the energy and emotion was vibrant & electric...and the place was filled to capacity!Everyone who attended last Friday or Saturday's, or both, shows at Now Lounge, can attest to the fact that, for any "Buckley" fan...that those two shows are something they will never forget!!!   I will never forget those two incredible nights last weekend!

Thank you Jeff Buckley.

Hey Everyone,

So it seems alot of people are wondering about this NEW Acoustic EP i am bringing out in a couple of weeks.  Well, here's the scoop directly from the 'horse's mouth'!

ABOUT: INTERMISSION EP - the acoustic sessions

My new EP is called "Intermission", and it is going to be a 4 song mini album, that i am only going to selling at my shows in CD form.  I will hopefully hook it up so you can download the tracks too though, but you won't be able to get the CD version unless you are at a show.  Don't worry, all the songs will be available...and i will showcase them up on Myspace to listen to, and maybe download for free!

ABOUT THE SONGS...

All the songs on "Intermission" are bare, very stripped-down, acoustic versions of my brand new songs.  All the songs were recorded "live-off-the-floor" in one-take each.  So there are no overdubs, no edits or retakes on any of them.  They are as close to my live show as they could be, and the most stark and bare recordings i have ever released!  This EP well definitely give you a glimpse of the newer songs that i am readying to record for my follow-up to "A Few Bucks Short Of Taking Over".    The "Intermission" acoustic sessions were recorded by Lorne Hounsell, in his studio, in mid-April 2006, in Toronto.

"SHE" posted at 6 PM, May 2nd, 2006...

As of late last night, i have posted an unmixed version of one of the NEW songs from this EP.  It's called "She", and it is a brand new song!  Hope you like it!  The other songs on "Intermission" are: "Just What It Is", "Only Satellites", and "Want To".  There may be also an uncredited bonus song on the CD too!

So, i hope these recordings are interesting and i hope you enjoy them....this is really an EP i'm making for all my fans!

Cheers,

~Chisai Jackson
