ANYHOO. Spring break this week, isn't that exciting? The answer is yes and no. Yes, because I can actually sleep (are those angels singing in the background?). No, because les AP's are coming up and I have to study. Le poo.

So I just read Micah, by Laurell K Hamilton. I was EXTREMELY relieved that it wasn't as COMPLETELY CRAPPY AND SEXED as Incubus Dreams, which sucked major ass. It actually was pretty good- not nearly as good as the old Anita Blakes, but good enough to give me hope for Danse Macabre. Plus there was only one sex scene, albeit a thirty pager.
Oh well! I'm a sucker for punishment.

I've recently been filled with the desire to get a boyfriend. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME? Boys make me feel l'akward! And THEY are akward! And often stupid/clingy/creepy! ARGH. Dating is STUPID. Why I would ever want to do any of that nonsense is beyond me. If I had superpowers, I could totally get a hot, superhero guy. Like wolverine ala Hugh Jackman (comic book wolverine makes me think of an uncle/protector, not YUMMY MAN MEAT!) But noooooo. I really wish I had admantium claws.

Man, my hair is getting long. Past my shoulders already! I had it short before, but I think I'll let it grow out. I'm going for that anime hair (see profile picture :P).

Okay, all you people who write stories/fanfiction? Here's a tip: Learn to spell/write in english. Don't give me any of this net speak crap. When you write a story, I want it to be legible. All that damn "u walk into da room and see da hottiee ther" crap drives readers away and LOOKS STUPID! LEARN TO WRITE! Morons!

Anyhoo. Topic. I was reading another myspacer's blog and it got me to thinking (a dangerous pastime I know). A lot of times people say that mankind is here to destroy, kill, and fulfill our primal urges. That thats our purpose in life. Myself? I buy it...to an extent. I do believe that mankind has certain, barbarous instincts (ie to kill, to hurt, etc) but I don't think that we're all THAT bad. Sure, we've done bad stuff, stupid stuff *cough*nuclear capabilities*cough* but you've got to remember the good as well. What about art? Literature? Philosophy? The arts of the mind? What about knowledge? Maybe man's true function is to store knowledge for the universe. Maybe thats the function of all life. It makes sense if you think of the universe as a sentient being. Its like, I've got all this knowledge about chemistry, and physics, and minds and emotions, so I should put it to use. I think THAT is the purpose of life. Not to do good works, or praise God, or 42, but rather to LIVE.

    What does living entail, you might ask? Living is not sitting around, waiting for things to happen. Living is being a catalyst for change, even tiny changes that one might not recognize. Its getting out there and doing things- living is all about productivity. In the end it doesnt really matter whether people view your actions as productive or not. Its also about feeling- like the overwhelming joy that bubbles out of your chest when you listen to good music, or the crushing grief when you lose someone. Thats our job, as beings infused with a lifeforce, whatever that may be. We must feel to be truly alive; we must also avoid lethargy and apathy.

WOOT! I just found out that Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, season one, has been licensed and will probably be released in the US in the fall. YAYY!!!!!! PLUS I have also heard that the xXxHolic/Tusbasa anime movie will also be released. There is a plethera of joy, people.

CLAMP is amazing, by the way. Even the lowliest of their stuff is good. And the beautiful art...le sigh.
