Vintersorg
– the mastermind behind such Pagan Metal classics as "Till
Fjälls“ and "Ödemarkens Sons“ – is currently working on a
new album. The keyboards and vocals tracks are almost
completed, making way for the guitars and drums. The
Swedish musician supreme will not be sharing any more
details about the successor to “Solens Rötter” at this
point in time, but fans should stay tuned for more updates
in the upcoming weeks. The release of the yet untitled
upcoming long player is tentatively scheduled for the fall
of 2010.

Hey there everybody! I've got some news about the new album that should entice the old hands (and hopefuly the new ones as well). As of yet, the unnamed new record is being recorded and will be mixed at Ballerina Studio. They're not sure how they're going to do drums, but if there are live drums they will probably be done by Benny Hägglund ( Fission). Many frequently ask about the lyrics, and many (again) will be pleased to hear that they are in Swedish (entirely). You excited yet? /The Webguy

Taken from the official forum from July 14th: "Some news: I've now written 5-6 new Vintersorg tracks that sound really
cool with a lot of folk touch but somehow it also has a touch of CG
atmosphere. Just going to start to record some stuff during this
summer.
A new Waterclime album is now completed, at the moment I'm noe shure
who will release it. It's a leap up in song quality and also
productionwise compared to the earlier two albums.
Fission: not much happens at this time...we're just filling up the right a mount of inspiration to start working on some stuff.
Borknagar: Concentrating on Wacken and looking forward the realese the new album "Universal".
Cronian: Not much is actually going on at the time...we have like two-three new tracks going.
Gravisphere: Working on the recording of an album. So far keyboards are
kind of completed..but you never know as it's zillions of 'em
just found about ten really atmopheric track in my recording computer
the other day...don't know if I ever will do anything with it...but
some ideas were special.
take care!

Hey everyone! I'm going to be conducting a myspace exclusive interview with Mr. V and A. Stenlund (from TME and in Mr. V's new project Gravisphere) and I thought it would be pretty sweet to give the fans a chance to ask some questions of the man himself and about the new Gravisphere project! It's all fair game, and I'll be selecting the best questions to ask them. Only send your questions in one e-mail and don't pester me about your questions or I'll be less likely to ask them. Make SURE you send the questions via MySpace messaging or they won't get answered or put in the question queue. Anyway, if you want to submit a question feel free to send us a message here at the Vintersorg MySpace. Sincerely, /The Webguy

VINTERSORG, the Swedish band led by BORKNAGAR frontman Andreas Hedlund (a.k.a. Vintersorg), will release its new album, "Solens Rötter" (English translation: "The Origin of the Sun") on April 27 in Europe and May 22 in the U.S. via Napalm Records. The CD was mixed at Ballerina Audio with the engineer Nils Johansson. Songtitles set to appear on the CD songtitles for the album: "Kosmosaik", "Naturens Mystär", "Vad Aftonvindens Andning Viskar", "Spirar och Gror", [and] 'Strålar'. Check out the cover artwork at this location. (It's tiny, but it's as good as we're getting right now.) VINTERSORG previously stated about the new CD, "It has taken some time to complete this album, but it hasn't been about not having ideas; instead it has taken us some time to understand what kind of album we wanted to do and how to reach that vision. A more ethnic approach is obvious but still with a fresh vibe as we see it ourselves, hymn-like passages mixed with soothing parts, acoustic guitars are present as well as harsh black metal elements; all filtered through our Nordic minds. But don't expect 'The Focusing Blur' part II; new ideas are very present but the songs feels very fluent and bear the atmosphere of nature in all its forms." VINTERSORG recently extended its worldwide recording contract with Napalm Records "to include multiple releases," according to a posting on the Napalm web site. The follow-up to 2004's "The Focusing Blur", "Solens Rötter" will not feature contributions from Steve DiGiorgio ( SADUS, SEBASTIAN BACH, TESTAMENT, DEATH) and drummer Asgeir Mickelson ( SPIRAL ARCHITECT, BORKNAGAR), both of whom performed on the band's last two releases. Vintersorg's collaboration with BORKNAGAR's Oystein G. Brun (guitars and programming), dubbed CRONIAN, released its debut album, "Terra", in the U.S. in April 2006 via Century Media Records. The CD, which was issued in Europe on March 27, was mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound.
