The Fusionalists website came to exist on the 25th Feburary 2008, born out of a passionate love for the past...in particular the Victorian era...shared by Mister Sykes and myself (Miss Demeanor).
We time travel around the world...
by means of the research we do for our family tree's, labouring over maps from the 1800's of places such as whitechapel, Bethnal Green, Hackney,The Ratcliffe Highway, Prussia, Germany,  taking ourselves down the memory lanes of our ancestors...investigating the lot of the silk merchant, dock labourer, coster, licensed Victuller, boarding house keeper...honing detective skills that would give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money!..as we gather clues to uncover the past...it's rather like being in a fantastic adventure story!
We are also quite mad curators...
'HQ' is filled with the things we treasure, from coins to pocket watches, swords to long case clocks, oil lamps to Sewing machines, watchmakers lathes to elderly Teddy bears, cigar boxes to carved wooden marionettes, silver mourning brooches to black forest carved trinkets, Old English pewter to poison bottles, gladstone bags to hawkes saxophones, accordians to silver cutlery, postcards to cut throat razors...to name but a few of our favorite things!...
Nearly all our treasures were foundlings, or prizes extracted from second hand markets, bootsales, charity shops for a few coins, some have been found tossed away on to skips and lots have been given to us, as broken things that were no longer wanted, we have always tried to repair what is broken and give those things a new life... but make no mistake, we never seek to make an object look like it's brand new...
...all these things had a life before we knew them and just as people bare their scars so it is for the fruit bowl with a hairline crack, the careworn teddy bear that has lost his plush, the pocket watch with it's slightly dented case and so on...we appreciate all the little imperfections that give each thing it's uniqueness!
...we are always curious about the origins of the things we own and many happy hours are spent trying to discover the story behind a makers name or pondering how many owners this or that has out lived!
There are many other things that fascinate us which you will find far better reflected within the pages of our web site www.thefusionalists.com, where we do hope you will find something of interest to suit and promise you won't have to spend a single penny!...come find us and tell us all about you!

Best Love my dears, from your devoted friends in old London Town,
Miss Demeanor and Mister Sykes
