'The mind has exactly the same power as the hands;
not merely to grasp the world, but to change it."

Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.Only that in you which is me can hear what I'm saying. I am a part of all that I have met.

There's more to the truth than just the facts. Even a clock that does not work is right twice a day.Losing an illusion makes you wiser than finding a truth.

If a man who cannot count finds a four-leaf clover, is he lucky?

The obscure we see eventually.  The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer. We are all but recent leaves on the same old tree of life and if this life has adapted itself to new functions and conditions, it uses the same old basic principles over and over again.  There is no real difference between the grass and the man who mows it.

Sometimes it's necessary to go a long distance out of the way in order to come back a short distance correctly.Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Wars and elections are both too big and too small to matter in the long run.  The daily work - that goes on, it adds up.

I tell you everything that is really nothing, and nothing of what is everything, do not be fooled by what I am saying.  Please listen carefully and try to hear what I am not saying.

Oh, Heaven, it is mysterious, it is awful to consider that we not only carry a future Ghost within us; but are, in very deed, Ghosts.Knock on the sky and listen to the sound.

You never know what is enough, until you know what is more than enough. If you think you're free, there's no escape possible. Life has the name of life, but in reality it is death.

To learn something new, take the path that you took yesterday.Whatever I take, I take too much or too little; I do not take the exact amount.  The exact amount is no use to me.

How long has it been since someone touched part of you other than your body.Each forward step we take we leave some phantom of ourselves behind.

No matter where you go or what you do, you live your entire life within the confines of your head. Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.The obstacle is the path.

It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers.

It is easy to stand a pain, but difficult to stand an itch.

You are fastened to them and cannot understand how, because they are not fastened to you.

We waste a lot of time running after people we could have caught by just standing still.

I slept with faith and found a corpse in my arms on awakening; I drank and danced all night with doubt and found her a virgin in the morning.

And you can also see alot by just looking...

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!

If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow them.

None who have always been free can understand the terrible fascinating power of the hope of freedom to those who are not free.

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.

Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.

Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to succeed.

A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her.

Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.

My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.

One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

To follow without halt, one aim; there is the secret of success. And success? What is it? I do not find it in the applause of the theater; it lies rather in the satisfaction of accomplishment.

All my growth and development led me to believe that if you really do the right thing, and if you play by the rules, and if you've got good enough, solid judgment and common sense, that you're going to be able to do whatever you want to do with your life.

The secret of success is constancy to purpose.There are no gains without pains.

Yesterday I dared to struggle. Today I dare to win.

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.
