We just uploaded a new track, "Phantom Don't Go". This is track 1 from "Dead Zone Boys", which will be out in November. If you sift around on you tube you can find some more secret treats.

Yes, we still post blogs on myspace. Deal with it.

Guess what, we're going to vanish and come back different again. We're adding some new members and learning some new songs. Our first show in this mysterious new formation will be on August 14th at the Melody Inn for the Marmoset cd release. We won't be playing any shows until then.

We have finished a new recording. It should be out in November and will be called "Dead Zone Boys". We recorded some of it on the East Side and some of it on the West Coast. Ostry laid some delicious booming drums on top of the Moo-do. Rafter helped a lot. It's the best thing we have done so far. Here's the tracklist...

1. Phantom Don't Go
2. Don't Go Phantom
3. You Cried Me
4. Gonna Need the Guns/Doom Hope
5. East Side Bangs/East Side Fade
6. Glyphin' Out
7. Evil Guh
8. XXXiawn Shell
9. Zombie Tear Drops
10. LIGHT
11. F.I.T. F #1

Hello!

We have just returned from an amazing whirlwind grabbag tour in Europe. We danced under an iron dragon that shot out flames in Berlin, rode a suitcase down a hill in Brighton, played to the most people we ever have in our sweet lives when we opened for the Notwist in Brussels, left a girl in Kassel (sorry Dani), and a bunch of other things I'll let you imagine.

We also met our two new favorite bands...

1. Asa from Finland. We saw them play in Hamburg, Germany at the Golden Pony. Live traditional instruments and singing, soul samples, thick beats, impassioned dancing, a unique sense of humor, and conscious rhymes (I only know this because they would sometimes explain the jist of the songs before they performed them, all the songs are in Finnish). I can't find much about them on the internet, but they told us they've been around for five years now, and apparently there is a huge Finnish hip hop scene. This song (Varaanmaa) isnt nearly as good as anything on their latest, "Luppuasukas", but it's still really good. The video starts out corny, but it gets good at the end.

Trusty wikipedia info about Finnish Hip Hop...

2. Trash Kit from London. We played with them in London at The Old Blue Last. Garagey, Punky, Twee-y, Lo-Fi. Awesome. They have only been playing for a few months, but have already been approached by awesome show promotion/record label team Upset the Rhythm (http://www.upsettherhythm.co.uk/), to record and release an album. Trash Kit apparently writes 17 sweet songs per day. Upset the Rhythm has a bunch of tight releases.

We are lucky! We are trying to sort out the culture overload in our small Hoosier brains. It's not going very well. I guess we'll just have to go back.

Love,

Moose & Ostry

Seems like Spring in the Irv.

Our name is now just "Jookabox". We don't want to sound like an old man anymore. That is final! You can use the old name if you want, but if I hear you I'll do a Springsteen knee slide into your private junk. So, you've been warned.

We'll be on tour throughout March with Everthus the Deadbeats and then Dark Meat!

Come and see new jams raged hard live. Come and see the strange new member of this one man band, Ostry. How is that possible?? Are we the same person? Probably. We might be Irish elementals.
