Hello all!
Just wanted to let you know that this Sunday at 9pm I will be opening for a WiSUC fundraiser in support of SlutFest, a music festival to take place at Club 770 in Union South. From the Daily Page: "Tonight's show features local stand-up comedians and the spazzy art-rock of Screamin' Cyn Cyn and the Pons: all perform to help raise money to fund this year's women in music festival, interestingly titled Slut Fest '06." Cyn Cyn and the Pons is a lot of fun and I hope you all can come out!

THE SHABELLES ARE COMING!!!! THE SHABELLES CD RELEASE PARTY WITH GOAT RADIO, THE FAMILIARS, TAMARA BACKUS
WHERE: THE KING CLUB
114 King St Madison, WI 608-251-king WHEN: Friday, February 3rd 10pm COST: $5 The Shabelles is a Madison area band formed by Adam Schabow of The Kites and includes members from Digibot, Grandstand, Something to Do and Blammo. The album titled “Self Titled” was recorded and engineered by Kyle Urban from The Motorz and includes various number of guest musicians from the Madison area music scene including Shinky (The New Recruits), Bob Koch (The Super Eights, The Runners-Up), Dan Hargrove (The Familiars) and many others. The show will start promptly at 10pm. Here is the line up: Singer/songwriter Tamara Backus will be kicking off the evening performing her acoustic/folk act and delighting us with her beautiful voice and sharp harmonies. It is definitely worth coming early for. Goat Radio will once again be rocking it up for everyone to see. Hearing them play their signature song “Long Night” by itself is worth the admission. The band is made up of four veterans of the Madison music scene, most recently members of The Randy Cliffs and Sin City Injectors. Come see Tony drum! This will be The Shabelles premiere show playing their fun powerpop/poppy/pop secret style music. Songs such as “Place in the Sun” and “I’ve Got a Girlfriend that Looks Like Roy Orbison” will most certainly get the toes tapping and the body dancing. The Shabelles will be ready to show the world (or at least the people in attendance at The King Club) what they can do for their premiere, first ever show. Dan Hargrove’s eclectic pop band The Familiars tinkers with many different styles but always has the heart of a true classic pop song. Other members include Kyle Urban and Josh Laboss from The Motorz and Madison music veteran Dave Esmond. The Familiars will end the night with a bang. So instead of staying home and complaining about how there is nothing to do, come out to a show where fun, dancing and rock’n’roll is guaranteed….as is 10 random people winning a free Shabelles cd. Hope to see you there!
