"Living in New York City, it is not unusual to see graffiti sprayed on buildings, an overgrown, unkempt garden or below-average community centers. In fact, we sort of expect to encounter these problems as we go through our routines. On April 12^th however, we, the members of the American Marketing Association at the Fashion Institute of Technology, are participating in an annual project called Hands on New York Day. By volunteering our time to this venture, we will be able to clean up and renew parts of the city that are dearly needed, yet severely overlooked. Meanwhile, we will be able to work together with the other volunteers, learn great leadership skills from the on-site captains and witness how the city is going green. By giving just one day of our time, we are able to accomplish a bit of "spring cleaning" for our home city."
