I can't say it any more frank than the subject title. The record is done and available free of charge at www.limerickrecords.com. This is maybe the most exciting event this group has taken part in. It's a debut, the completion of a tumultuous process, and a beautiful way to begin the summer season. I encourage everyone to give it a chance, and if you'd like to support the group we'll have a limited run of hard copies for sale at shows and elsewhere, or just send us a line and we'll hook you up. I love you all, I love this, I feel very happy.

sincerely, jason

Current mood:Eager
Hey!!!

Great news for Capitol Jay all around, big things, little things, just lots of things. We have been working vigorously or just less than vigorously on getting our album done. Very exciting, because I know we've said this thing is going to come out for almost a year--if not more--but this time it's for real. We've got studio time booked and everything--no backing out now.

We haven't got anything booked for now either, we're dedicating most of our time to "perfecting" our music on disc. also, Capitol Jay will be a five piece again. We're bringing in another guitarist (named Ian) and a fantastic Cellist--(that's right a fucking cello player!!!!) by the name of Chelsea.

All in all, we couldn't be happier or more eager for what is to come this summer.

Thanks to everyones support

love jason, cody, and tim

Ok, the title doesn't mean anything, but this is a just a quick thank you to Augsburg and the Alarmists--who played a great show, nov 3rd. We feel very privileged to be playing with some pros and it encourages us to rock harder than a MOUNTAIN.

Just to let everyone know, Capitol Jay will have the first debut LP ready mid December, and will be officially released in Jan or Feb with a cd release party, maybe at the capitol jay house? who knows right now. We know the album has been subject to extreme delay, but It shall be complete without much further ado.

Thanks again-

Jason

Well, friends, as you may have heard by now, our good buddy/guitarist/mandolinist/crazy fucker Tony is going to be leaving for California soon. I know that we're all sad to see him go. However, this does not mean the end of Capitol Jay. No sir, we will still be playing our hearts out at your favorite Twin Cities venues. But the loss of Tony is a blow to the fanbase, as well as us. We'll always fondly recall Gin & Juice, the Country Song, Long Way Home, and all the other songs that Tony has brought to fruition. We will be having a going-away party the night of Saturday the 23rd at the CJ house, so come around and smack him up before he leaves. There will be music, boxing, and most of all, Tony. On the other hand, the CD is well on its way to being finished, and you will soon be able to hold a copy in your hands and say "Gee whiz, this is fantastic". You'll say it. Oh, goddamn, you'll say it.

Regards,
Cody

agreed! So long, farewell alveeterza...nevermind. As dissapointed as we are to see Tony leave us for the west coast, we still stand as devout as ever to making music. we all live in a troubled generation that will be remembered in history as a triumphent era. Whether it be in california, minnesota, new york, or kentucky, we all deal with the battles of life. I couldn't have asked for a better combo of musicians to work with, so cut off my hands but let the music prevail.

So sometimes when the feeling's right, being at work means not really working. I'll give an example... right now it means posting this.

Just recently, I was chilling with my homies bustin' up some 40's and knockin' the 5-0. (Enjoying an Old Milwaukee with the regulars talking to that friendly officer who's name I forget) when some discussion of the band came up. Thinking back on this I realized that no one in the know has mentioned the latest news on the release of any studio recordings of the goodness that is Capitol Jay. SO...

After some falling through with previous studio engineers and a recent development under a certain Stardune productions, all previous recording was cut very abrubtly. I wish I knew exactly what post-haste meant because that sounds like exactly the correct word to describe the situation. Much like "sod" just SOUNDS to the ears like a rectangle of precision cut chunk of Earth. But I digress.

The plan at this moment is to release a short EP sometime before the end of June. This would probably be in the neighborhood of three tracks. Just a little something to keep the current fan-base happy until we can have time to perfect something a little closer to full-lenth the end of August. Yes, hopefully by this fall one could light the fireplace, pour some cabernet, and turn up Capitol Jay in place of Barry White while cuddling up with their best girl... or boy... or pet golden retriever Tito. (Either way, heavy petting ensues. Haha, heavy pe.... wheww)

So now the question of the month is what songs go on the EP. Some believe the more popular songs belong on the EP while others say that perhaps those should be saved for the full-length cd. I just yell "poppycock!" That gets every ones attention but with nothing to follow it up it's really pretty pointless. Anyway, though no one else has said anything I'm sure we're open to suggestions which could be passed on through the the group. (Because we're really each just one pawn that when combined becomes a force to reckon with. Much like the Power Rangers)

There you have it, thoughts and comments appreciated. If you're not ambitious enough to send a message or write on the wall... I happen to be ESP enabled. (note: if you attempt to contact me using ESP and don't get a response it's not my fault. It means you need to stop kidding yourself, you don't have ESP)

Peace in the Middle East, Save the Whales, Go Bengals!
