Hey all Okay Thursday supporters :)

Sarah here. So the time has come to say goodbye! As many of you know, the remainder of Okay Thursday makes up a powerful force also known as The Motion Sick. They’re actually just returning from a tour on which I’m sure they kicked some serious asses and took some lovely names. For almost a year now, they’ve juggled two bands with more grace than I thought humanly possible. However, it’s time for them to concentrate their efforts on The Motion Sick, so Okay Thursday is going to turn off the lights and call it a night.

But along with thanking you all for coming out to shows and supporting the popping Okay Thursday has been doing for over two years now, I wanted to personally thank everyone who has ever been a part of Okay Thursday: Brad, Rebecca, Clint, Mike, Matt, Travis, and Nikki.

Thank you all for developing, spreading the word of, and, above all, playing in this band with me. It’s been one of the most important things to me in my 25 years so far. I love it right down to the cartoon logo Rebecca designed that, despite any issues we ever dealt with, always made me smile. Whenever anyone was dancing or singing along, it made all the work worth it.

I am absolutely going to miss it, but certainly this does not mean the end of our music-making. There are (far too!) many projects in which the aforementioned multi-talented group of characters participate in various capacities, so please go out and support them:

The Motion Sick
One Happy Island
where the land meets the sea
C4RT
Bikini Radio
The Cult of Point Break Society

And you absolutely haven’t heard the last of me, but that goes without saying ;)

Okay Thursday is playing our last show on April 3rd, 2008 at O’Brien’s in Allston, which is also the first show of a month-long residency hosted by the ever-popular, ever-spastic Harris (who, you might remember, played the first night of our Abbey residency on an insufferably hot night in August 2006.) Here’s the lineup:

Harris
Okay Thursday
Talk Modern
The Woodrow Wilsons

We’re psyched to be sharing the stage with them once again, along with these two other fantastic Boston bands.

Love to all,
Sarah

We're honored to be celebrating with Hennessys and Sean, as the upstairs rock club celebrates 1 year!

Joe Carson opens the show at 9, then you'll get some sassy pop from us, and then what looks to be like either The Cold War from Providence, RI, The Main Drag, or perhaps both!

Come out to 25 Union Street Faneuil Hall and toast to 1 year of damn good indie rock booking in an area that was previously void of it.

Congrats Sean, and Happy Birthday Hennessys Upstairs!

Hey guys,

So Okay Thursday got a makeover, and now I'm like that annoying host on one of those TLC shows ready to present the brand new "character" to you. Behold the new lineup:

Nikki: synth, vocals
Mike: guitar, vocals
Matt: bass, vocals
Travis: drums

and there's me, but I'm old news...

Sarah: lead vocals, glock

I'll make sure we get new photos for you guys to oogle, and a brand new website (www.okaythursday.com) but for now, come check out the songs on the 'space and the shows in town, and we'll see you out and about.

Sarah :)

So we're done! It's official. We've got our first full-length album under our belts! The collection of songs, entitled Fun in Flats, was produced by local rock veteran Eric Edmonston (Darkbuster) over at Fallen Angel Studios. Really great guys over there, definitely give them a ring for "all your recording needs." ;) (http://fallenangelrecords.net/)

We'll have more exciting news regarding the release of this album and how you can get your hands on these insanely awesome gems in the days to come. For now, hop on the myspace and listen to three new cuts. They promise to have your head bopping and toes tapping or your money back.

We're emerging from the dank studios and rehearsal spaces for the first time in a while to play our favorite haunt, the Abbey Lounge, this coming Wednesday, June 28. You don't want to miss this, as the mighty Unitards start things off, followed the Spoilers, then us at 10:45, and Static of the Gods bringing the house down to finish things off. It's summer time, so you can't use that old "but it's a school night" excuse. As those Paley boys once intoned, come out and play.

Who: Okay Thursday (10:45), with the Unitards (9:00), the Spoilers (9:45), and Static of the Gods (11:45)
What: Take away the pain through the magic of pop music.
When: Wednesday, June 28
Where: The Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon Street, Somerville MA 02143

As always, and despite what you may have heard, Okay Thursday is:

Sarah Korval: singing
Rebecca Mitchell: drumming
Clint Reeves: bass playing
Brad San Martin: guitar playing

Current mood:  thankful
Friends, music lovers, and adoring fans --

Maybe you've been wondering about that persistent low-level hum. You know, the one you've been hearing all over town? That's the sound of the Okay Thursday camp, which is quite literally (to use that nasty adverb correctly, for once) buzzing with activity these days.

Thanks to the persistence and determination of producer Eric Edmonston, our debut album is now nearly completed. In between vocal overdubs, Sarah's busy plotting our path to global domination (we're starting in the Pacific rim, then Australia/New Zealand, Europe, then a triumphant stateside homecoming). Rebecca is polishing her cymbals, investing in new drumsticks, and sharpening her glock chops. Brad and Clint have both recently returned from separate fact-finding missions in the mid-west, where they discovered that Mr. and Mrs. Middle America does not regard Robin Gibb's second solo album How Old Are You? as the neglected electro-pop classic that it is.

And, most importantly, we have a gig this week. This Thursday(!) we will be using our toe-tapping indie-pop janglecore to rattle the beer-soaked walls of the Abbey Lounge, one of our very favorite rooms. Sure, you could miss it, but then what will you talk about with your co-workers on Friday morning? The Red Sox? The leadership vacuum in the CIA? American Idol? We dare you...We're on at nine.

Here are the deets:

Who: Okay Thursday (9:00), Orange Nichole (9:45), Lady of Spain (10:45), The Speed of Sound (11:45)
What: Rock your socks off (so don't bother wearing any)
When: Thursday, May 11 -- OKT goes on around 9, the others follow in order.
Where: The Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon Street, Cambridge/Somerville, MA 02143

We'll have some other shows this summer, as we prepare for the release of the album. Stay tuned, because there will be big news from us in the near future.

Now and forever, OKT is:

(alphabetical by middle name):

R. Bradley San Martin: guitar, singing
Rebecca L. Mitchell: drums, glock
Sarah R. Korval: singing, tambourine
Clint W. Reeves: bass, singing
