Yo! It's that time of year again and I'm not talking about bearded geriatrics in red suits carrying sacks of presents and careening down chimneys (though that is pretty ace too), I'm blabbering about Triple J's annual popularity contest, The Hottest 100!

The next part of the blog is fairly predictable, it's the bit where we ask you to go here and vote for our song 'ORDINARY'. Jokes aside though, we would genuinely really appreciate it and it would cap off what's been a pretty awesome year for us. So thank you. Yeah!

Well, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and all that stuff too. And a big THANKS to everyone who bought the record, came to the shows, or just generally gave a damn.

Peace.

Alex & RR.

P.S There's always more blog action here if, for some reason, you're looking for more.

Vote for us in triple j's Hottest 100!

Ten things I’ve learnt on the Drown In Colour tour…
1. The Manly Fisho’s meat raffle is rigged. Heaps.
2. Tim Rogers is THE Australian music icon of the last 20 years.
3. Everyone in Cronulla is either really tanned, buff and/or (mostly) both.
4. Don’t give Brad the car keys.
5. The Last Dinosaurs have a Phoenix-ey thing going on at the moment that’s pretty ace.
6. Tom Wallace is the most un-fat person I know.
7. Robin Boat People is a keyboard hero.
8. Red Rooster should change their slogan to: “Red Rooster. Hey, why not?”
9. It’s better to not step on Matt’s tuner mid-song.
and
10. Keep Tom off the radio.

A.

P.S I'm gonna try and put some photos up here when I learn how to use bluetooth.

So, we've been running this competition through Faster Louder to design us a t-shirt for our upcoming 'Drown In Colour' tour and the winner's just been announced! There's a little video of me and Tom talking junk about the winner and some other stand out designs here, so take a look if you want.

The only place to get a hold of the winning tee is at the 'Drown In Colour' shows and all the dates are on the front page.

Party!

So it's been about a hundred years since Drown In Colour the album came out, so we thought it was about time we got out of bed, took a shower, ran a razor across our faces and hit the road (and the skies)! Check out the dates on the front page. Plus we're being supported by two excellent bands, The Boat People and The Last Dinosaurs so it's probably gonna be a hoot. Or two.

Also, if you're feeling generous we'd love it if you voted for our new single 'Feels Like Grace' on Triple J. That'd be ace.

OK, well hopefully we'll see you at a show real soon,

A.

So our manager Jade, being the filmic whizz kid that she is, compiled a bunch of behind the scenes footage of us into little bite size videos. You can watch us on tour and recording 'Drown In Colour' here. Hope you like em.

A.

P.S Don't forget we're playing this Friday at the Sydney Theatre Company Wharf. People of all ages and sizes welcome.

P.P.S Thanks to all the kind messages about the record, the single, the video, and all that stuff too. It means heaps to us and has made our year!

Hey, firstly a big thanks to everyone who left a nice message about our new album on the comments page (or sent us a message). You guys are the best. It's good to know that people are enjoying the record and now I can finally sleep through the night again.

Just wanted to let ya know I've set up a new blog here. We'll still update this myspace one as well, but we wanted to be able to put up more random bits and pieces that wouldn't really have a place here. There's just a bunch of photos up at the moment, but I'll be updating it pretty regularly. Word.

So, yeah. Just letting ya know.

A.

Oh and yeah, Matt put up some USA snaps in the Pics section on here.

Hey y'all. Well, our new album Drown In Colour is out THIS Friday the 10th of July in all good record stores (and online if you're future minded) and, when we're not chewing our nails down to bloody stumps with nerves, we're actually really excited about it. Myspace seem to like it too cos they've made it album of the week, so the entire thing is up and streaming off our myspace front page right now for your listening (hopefully) pleasure. It's been a long while coming, so it's hard to believe that's it's only days away from being released.

Anyway, just wanted to give you all a heads up and say thanks for your support during our year in the wilderness. Hopefully we'll see you on the road somewhere very soon.

Peace.

A.

You might have seen our new clip for 'Ordinary' up on our front page. Well, I decided to interview the three dudes who make up Melbourne creative posse Moopjaw, the company that made the clip. It also gives me a chance to get some of my frustrated-journalist urges out.

Alexander Grigg: How'd you come up with the idea for 'Ordinary'?
Ryan Fraser (Director): A trip to the country cleared my head and at the top of a mountain it came to me. Peakin!

AG: Which Melbourne institution are you most like and why?
RF: Brother .Baba. Budan. Gotta love that coffee!
Warran Wright (Art Director): The homeless. We don't eat vegetables either, and know that a nice sweater is more important than shaving cream.
Rhett Wade-Ferrell (Producer): Centrelink. We employ the unemployed.

AG: Whose jokes are funnier, yours or someone else's?
WW: I don't tell jokes, those people were just laughing at me because I slipped in some snot.
RWF: I once was so stoned I said to Warran that I thought I was funnier than Ricky Gervais. I quit weed the next day. They should put that on the government Anti-Marujuana posters.

AG: How many times do you reckon you've had to listen to the damn song now?
RF: Something like 122 & 3/8's but 'damn' was never used in the same sentence as Red Riders.
RWF: Around 20. I got off lightly this time.
WW: 0.

AG: The Young Ones or The Mighty Boosh? Remix or Cover? Baby or Posh?
WW: The Young Ones, if only for the "who's Bill?" joke; Cover, because all songs sound better in the wrong language; and Posh, for her demonstrated fertility.
RF: Boosh has Fossil!!. I prefer Edits. I actually prefer the sixth one. She never performed but was a backup if any got sick.
RWF: Noel Fielding IS Lycra. Linkin Park covers are best in Thailand. Baby..... where did she go?

Nuff said.
