Interesting that myspace force you to post each blog entry under a certain 'Category'. What if a blog doesnt fit any of their Categories, like 'Art and Photography', evn 'Blogging'. ?. Maybe its Category is 'Categories'?
Oh, I see. they allow you 'None' as a Category. Kind of fair enough. Still the ability to define ones own Categories would be nice. Something we all can do, I feel
(Bows to Douglas Hofstadter, the James Brown of Selfreferential Funktion. I'm still plowing through 'Metamagical Themas' , the most mindblowing book I've encountered since 'The Selfish Gene')
Wah! I wish the keyboard let me do spanish inverted exclamation marks. i , not quite. Needs a ffatter bass to the i.
Moving swiftly on to the main course here you can see a true exclusive HEAVY FRESH MUSICAL BISCUIT of a Psychout variety, vid of interest to any electronic hipster. My notes:
"David Vorhaus, the sonic psychedelic pioneer who created White Noise- Electric Storm jams on his outrageous self built midi controller phuture instrument the Kaleidophon. Filmed by Coldcut's Matt Black."
Just filmed that this afternoon after my visit to the Chinese Doctor, Dr Ke. David lives near me in Camden. The sound all comes from a huge Reaktor ensemble he wrote called "Maniac" controlled by the Kalidaphon
Couple of nights before that was supergroovy at the Inspiral Lounge , fast becoming the hottest coolest chill venue in London with its fab design, music, art, food and folks all in the best ecorganic taste. Gong have reactivated recently, and Daevid Allen joined Steve Hillage with Miket of System7 for an experimental art jam session. Daevid's full power sexpoem 'When you kiss me' was a highpoint, and he was looking well fly in starchild character..
In the interval as Mixmaster Morris seduced us on the dex, I was able to re-introduce David Vorhaus to long lost musical soul mates Steve and Daevid after many a year. Have become good friends with Steve + Miket, done visuals for them a coupla times, even to trance sets which they do freaking well. No singgering there you young or even older Ninjas...its all just sound. Electronic music genres nowadays are as much a matter of bpm as anything else. Not that I'm a great fan of trance ...although it is nice when mixed with Breaks at typically round 136-140 bpm.
But I digress. Again. And again. This is a digression on digression. Again. Beginning here, you are right now of course about midway through reading the sentance you have just finished.
have you found that so called 'shuffle' random
play are NOT random, that the same tracks come up loads?

ps and now the compulsory extra bit...I have been working on some new ways to connect sound to image. Coming on nicely...Multitrack audio Visualisation...Recently hooked up with Jon of excellent Mac AV instrument 'Just add Music', and a quartz composer dude. He turned us on to some other hot London dudes, Memo and the_voder who are doing loads of cool QC stuff. So now I've also got in touch with THEM and we're gonna combine forces I hope. VDMX may well be the way forward as it supports QC compositions fully. A 3d object loader is working pretty well something i've been waiting years for in a real time vj app.
ANyway, Jon showed me this inspiring example of 3d AV from Memo
