Check out this from Mainstream Isn't So Bad Is It?, based in Massachusetts, USA. We remind them of Belle and Sebastian and Lenka – just fine by us: http://mainstreamisntsobad.blogspot.com/2009/07/simply-stanley.html

Andru and Paul of Canada's Aimless and Andy Show are a bit like the BBC's Adam and Joe – a folksy mix of irreverence and music, aimed at "university students hipsters/fashionistas and twenty-somethings... On occasion we stray away from the usual." Well they sure did that last week, interviewing us for a full half hour about our new EP. Actually they interviewed Michael, and not only about the EP – he had a whole Canadian life before the band (sorry band :)) Check it out here: http://wakeupwinnipeg.com/podcast/michaelbondfinal.mp3

If you didn’t make Wednesday’s show at The Windmill here’s what happened: we played with our two favourite bands, all our friends, partied like it was 1999 and sold a huge bunch of CDs hot off the press. So, like where were you?!

Never mind, the 5-track EP “Nothing to Say” will be available to download soon - watch this space for details.

We want to say a big thanks to our brothers and sisters Goldheart Assembly and Oldwick, who played beautiful music. Man, it was good. We're still smiling from Wednesday’s high. Peace.

Our first commercial CD is coming out soon, five songs and it'll be on
iTunes and all those other places. If you feel like celebrating with
us, come to the Windmill in Brixton on the eve of Wednesday 22 April,
when we'll be jiving around with two other bands of our ilk, the
wonderful Goldheart Assembly and the wonderful Oldwick. Only £3 to
break in. For more info see www.windmillbrixton.co.uk xx

Okay, so it wasn’t Christmas anymore. Yeah, yeah, the busy new-year
excuse was wearing thin too. SO WHERE ARE THE BLOODY GIGS we kept
getting asked! Well we didn’t mean to slack off; it’s just the way the
gig cookie crumbled. But we got the Troubadour slot sorted and
boy-oh-boy did you come and hell did we have a good time? Now, a
legendary venue with a rich pedigree of A-list performances does not a
great gig maketh, but a packed house dancing on the tables to a
trumpet-supercharged Stanley does the trick! We welcomed new member
Ellie to the fold, who we feel has added a new dimension to the
group... and she’s only been here two weeks!! Stanley 2009 have arrived.

We have played a few times at the brilliant Easycome Acoustic Club at
The Nun’s Head. In fact, were there on Wednesday and it excelled
itself: eclectic acts, strange and fervent punters, and the
unparalleled proprietary style of organiser, sometime performer and
general mischief maker Andy Hank Dog. He is something of a legend,
having been involved over the last few decades with everything from the
Sex Pistols to Danny and the Champions of the World and untold
excursions inbetween. We jumped at the chance to record some stuff at
his studio. The interior of his Crystal Palace lair is like an
extension of the great man: untamed and fascinating, worn and friendly.
Writhing cables surround hulking recording equipment, almost lost under
paraphernalia; a longbow here, a postcard collection there. Half-strung
lutes jostle with crocks and gourds in one corner where a kitchenette
strains for recognition. Within this Aladdin’s cave Andy is the
masterful Genie, and wields a deft touch. Coaxing the most natural of
playing from us and recording the with deceptive minimalism, throwing
in ideas that wouldn’t have crossed our minds, we left with a bunch of
exciting new tracks after a very enjoyable afternoon. You can hear them
soon here. Thanks Andy Hank Dog!
