greetings Pain-fans, it's been a while (a year this Sunday, in fact).

I have come to break the silence with this news:

Look up at the myspace music player.  There is a NEW song on there, well a NEW recording of an existing song, a NEW mix by our NEW producer.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you a hefty slab of brutalist, wall-of-synths pop:

PRESS-STUD VENDETTA [revisited]
(mixed by Woodie Taylor at Milou Studios)

enjoy it, and we will be back soon.
Dom Pain x

more reviews uncovered:

Hand Shandy is an inky little zine that said our seven-inch was "like the rush from gulping down a can of fizzy pop on the bus..."

meanwhile we got a slice of the airwaves thanks to Organ radio on ResonanceFM, and compared Kiss Cuddle Torture to "lo-fi Flying Lizards* and bedroom Devo and home-made Roxy and scratchy pop"

*hmmm, lo-fi flying lizards, that's pretty lo-fi

Blimey, looks like The Source finally found the single we sent them for review (released November 2008). They say nice things too! SINGLE: MISS PAIN Shelf-Location ROM We always knew that Miss Pain had it in them but Shelf-Location ROM’s pop is more polished than the band’s past. The arch-cleverness has taken a backseat to great melodies, a sing along chorus and tight riffing. Anyone looking for electronic craziness are well served by the 8-bit computer style bleepery of MC Fashion’s Kiss Cuddle Torture, the original of which is also chaotic fun. (JK)

Anyone who witnessed Miss Pain in the "early days" may have been subjected to the might of Die Trommelmann.

We have disturbing news: Trommelmann just marched over the horizon.

You can read all about it and hear an early live version here:

I spent last Saturday holed up in a basement shunning the sunshine and testing Feline1's patience insisting that we DO need to add some OTT Mellotron Choir action to the end of our song The Itch.

We were there to tie up the loose ends on our latest recordings - 4 songs in all:
The Itch
Something To Give You
64%
Teenage Action/New Distraction.

These are on their way to our new producer Woodie Taylor, who produced the first (amazing!) Love Is All album, as well as working with Comet Gain and our good friends Shrag.

We just have to sit and wait now...

The keen-eyed Plan B readers among you will have noticed, in the current issue (Feb 09), a (short) live review of a gig we did with The Chap last June!

Better late than never we say.
Apologies for the bad scan.
Thanks to kicking_k for his kind words...
