Unwed Sailor finished mixing Little Wars. The album is 9 songs which clock in at 42 1/2 minutes.

The 2xLP version will include a two bonus tracks, one remix and one track recorded as part of the Little Wars sessions.
This new full-length has been a concept for several years, the band playing a track or two as part of their live set. "Copper Islands" is a building block for the album and has been part of the live show over the last few years.
Little Wars is the band's most ambitious and complex release yet, building on melodic lessons and recording techniques learned over the last several albums.
Not content to follow up with their energetic 2000 debut full-length, The Faithful Anchor, with a mere sequel, the band recorded 2003's The Marionette and the Music Box, challenging its fan base with a Peter and the Wolf inspired, classically influenced fairytale.
In 2006, Unwed Sailor released the Circles ep and The White Ox full-length that further departed from their live performance sound, exploring Eno/Lanois ambient recording techniques, resulting in a brooding, gloomy ambient opus wrapped in southwestern imagery.
Little Wars reflects both the depth and breadth that Unwed Sailor has developed through these diverging releases and its live show. The songs are energetic and highly melodic, but gently colored and focused by layered keyboards and percussion with a delicate ambience.
It also marks the recording return of Matt Putman, Matt Depper, and Nic Tse who recorded The Marionette and the Music Box with Johnathon Ford. The current live line-up, Brooks Tipton, Patrick Ryan, and Andy Haldeman, also played extensively on Little Wars with Phillip Blackwell of Questions in Dialect and occasional live/studio member of Unwed Sailor providing the remix for the vinyl version. The official retail release date is going to be 18 March 2008.

Unwed Sailor's new record Little Wars is finally completed. It will be released this coming spring on double vinyl and cd. We will playing songs from the new record on our upcoming tour with This Will Destroy You in December.

Unwed Sailor will be touring consistently throughout the end of the year...
we have an east coast/southern U.S. tour planned in august, followed by a run through the midwest in september. In October/November will be doing a full U.S. tour, followed by a European tour in late November/December.

Unwed Sailor's Little Wars is an almost mythical album that has been in the planning stages for quite some time. "Copper Islands" has been a fan favorite in the live set since 2001 or so and is also a favorite on their myspace page. But, several songs have already been recorded for Little Wars. And, it will be released before the end of 2007. Seriously. True to the name Burnt Toast Vinyl, we have ambitious plans. Little Wars will first be released as a special limited edition vinyl. The A side will appear several months before the B side as a special one-sided LP with limited edition artwork and a special etching. The B side will be available prior to the final cd release, also as a special one-sided LP and will arrive in the final LP jacket. A limited edition 7" with remixes from selected Little Wars tracks will be included with the B side. You can only get these limited edition LPs in a pair, with the first LP to ship sometime this summer and the second LP to arrive later in the fall. After this special edition run, the vinyl will be available as the standard A/B side in a normal LP jacket. Three of the four songs for the A side have been completely recorded ("Copper Islands", "Little Wars", "Caliope(The Bear Parade)") and mixed and the fourth song is nearly complete ("Lonely Bulls"). We're working to get this finished up and out for the true fans who finally want to purchase Little Wars as a limited edition 2xLP set.
