Hey everyone!

Big THANK YOU to everyone who made it out to the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA the other night - Tuesday, 10PM show no less - to hear some new music. You all know how much I love my band-mates (MARK ERELLI, RUSSELL CHUDNOFSKY, PAUL KOCHANSKI, and JOHN SANDS) and it was such a fun night.  We played a bunch of new songs (GOD DIDN'T BUILD YOU THAT WAY, MY LOVE FOLLOWS YOU WHERE YOU GO, HOW ROMANTIC IS THAT, SWEET DISPOSITION and one more I can't remember).  The crowd was GREAT and the whole night was a joy!

I also played a writers night last week with Mark Erelli, Shane Hines, and Kris Delmhorst at my favorite venue Club Passim.  I haven't seen Kris in a couple of years - which is honestly depressing - but it was an honor to sit beside her on stage again and listen to that incredible voice.  I love that girl!

Regarding "MAKE EVERY WORD HURT" - I haven't recorded that one yet - so you have to come out to a show to hear it.  I'm hoping to do some recording this fall.  So we'll see about that one.  It's one of my favorite new songs - and it seems like you all like it too. So I'll get working on that.

In the mean time - if you're looking for new awesome music - check out TRENT DABBS and ASHLEY MONROE's new EP.  It's awesome.  And my friend Erin McKeown is doing a house concert series from HER house - which is a twist - you can buy tickets on line and watch Erin from her living room in the comfort of your own living room (does that make sense?) Google both those things and become better informed than me (it's easy!).

THANKS EVERYONE.  Happy summer (rain and all) and Happy 4th of July.

Hi Everyone - I'm officially on Twitter now thanks to my KINGBILLY friends.  Feeling strangely embarrassed over the whole thing.  But I think I'll adjust.  In fact I could become obsessed. Not sure yet.  The widget is up on the home page here.

Getting ready to SKYPE with Liz Rose in the morning.  Nothing better than a BOSTON/NASHVILLE cowrite before lunch.

My love and thanks to everyone who attended the IRONHORSE show the other night.  And special thanks to ASHLEY GEARING and BEN DEMERATH for opening that show up.  It was so much fun.

I hope to see you all at the Lizard Lounge on June 30th.  I think that's the only BAND date we have this summer.  Still writing writing writing like mad.

Current mood:  happy
Hi all - I hope everyone is doing great out there.  We had such a beautiful day in Massachusetts today.  My kids will swim in the pool no matter HOW cold the water is.  We got a little rain and a 5-minute rainbow - all totally worth while.

I wanted to let you know that MANDY MOORE's latest release "amanda leigh" is out in stores.  I found it at Target.  The record is amazing and I had the pleasure of helping Mandy write one of the tunes that made the final cut "EVERBLUE".  The record was produced by Stoughton's own MIKE VIOLA and cut right here in the Boston area.  It's really a work of art.  So check it out.

Finally got an iPhone last week.  Waited for a long time for this thing.  I'm such a Mac person - and although I will admit to being pretty bad at technology - I have to say the thing's pretty incredible.  It already taught me how to walk from my Hotel in Nashville to my Publishers office.  That's crazy.

Just posted a couple of Boston shows this month.  Most importantly the one and only BAND show of the summer - will be at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge on June 30th.  Last time I was there supporting Mike Viola and there were crowds of Stoughton High School graduates lining the streets to get in.  This time it will be just me and the band.  My beloved band - Mark Erelli, Russell Chudnofsky, Paul Kochanski and John Sands.  We hope to see you there if you can make it.

Thanks to all you folks who made it out to 12th & Porter a couple of weeks ago in Nashville.  I was there as part of "KINGBILLY is your friend".  And got to play with a few of those boys - they are all amazing (a couple of them are Berklee grads) and the nicest guys.  I'll be supporting them once again in Boston at Berklee's CAFE 939 on June 10th - I know Boston will welcome them with open arms.

Traveling to Nashville in the morning for some marathon writing this week.  So happy to be working with the talented folks at UNIVERSAL PUBLISHING now.  I got a hat and everything...and my friend Barry Dean bought me a hot-cocoa at the Nashville airport!
I wish you all the best. lm

Current mood:  hopeful
Hey everyone! I hope this finds you well. I guess it's fair to say that I haven't made much time to BLOG. So here's a little update for you all. I'm finally getting plugged into this myspace thing - but I'll tell you the truth - I have to take it one step at a time. I know how to add shows and if this blog successfully is added, then I know how to do a blog - but that's it. Email, no idea. Friends, no idea. Video, no idea. But I'm working on it.

I've been doing a TON of writing this winter - starting to think about making a record for myself maybe this fall and I'm just now starting to get out there and do some more shows - hopefully introducing some new songs along the way. (I'll try to get some guitar vocals up here soon.)

LORIMCKENNA.COM is down because the experts are doing to over - that'll be up soon. And there's a ton of exciting things going on. MANDY MOORE'S new record - which is incredible (Produced my Stoughton's own MIKE VIOLA) is coming out MAY 26th. You've got to hear it - it's called AMANDA LEIGH and I'm so proud of Ms. Mandy. She is such a talent! Other things on the horizon too. I'll tell you more about soon.

Wishing you all a beautiful Spring. be well, lm

This autumn in New England has been one of the most brilliant I can
remember.  The leaves are redder than fire this year.  The local
apple-picking farm we've been visiting every year with the kids...
