Hello Haven-playing Musicians:
We have a new publicity to tell you about: in addition to the promo we offer every act playing at the Haven (as described at www.thehavensocialclub.com/booking/), every headliner or double bill who brings 80+ people to the Haven earns the services of our new in-house publicist, Liz Lepper, for their next gig at the Haven.
Liz is contracted to help these acts with the following:
ß Prepare local media materials, including advance notice, release, PSA's, etc.; ß Distribute media information and photos/CD's (if applicable) to ensure depth and timeliness of coverage; ß Develop and pursue select local and regional media angles for the run for print and electronic media (feature stories, on-air interviews, previews, reviews); ß Act as media liaison with representatives of Haven; ß Coordinate interviews, photo-ops, and radio/television broadcasts; ß Prepare and distribute a media invitation; arrange reviewers; ß Maintain and utilize an up-to-date list of relevant media contacts; ß Coordinate a media clippings package and final publicity report. It's hard to get people out and we know that; so if you demonstrate to us that you can do this we definitely want to reward you with everything we possibly can do on our end. One day we'd like to offer these services to every act that get booked at our venue, regardless of how many people they bring, but we have yet to be in the financial position to do that. We hope for now you can see how this is a big beginning and a good opportunity for you, quite unique to our venue. Normally you would have to pay a handsome sum to secure the services of a well-connected professional publicist, and it is not always easy to get a publicist to take on just any act. So, if you can demonstrate you have a following of at least 80 people and can work hard enough to fill our room, we will offer these services to you free of charge at your next Haven gig. It is our aim that everybody playing at our venue will have an enjoyable and successful experience working with us.
Cheers,
The Haven Social Club Staff

We ask that the bands load in for 6 pm. We have a short window of opportunity for sound check which we have negotiated with our neighbors from 7-730. We have to be very strict with this in order to maintain good relations. Because of the short window for sound check, we ask that bands use the house drum kit to save time. Feel free to bring your own hardware and snare, however.
Set times are as follows:
on three set nights for Thursdays 930-1015 1045-1130 12-1245 On Three set nights for Friday and Saturday 10-1045 1115-12 1230-115 on two set nights for Thursday 930-1030 11-12 on two set nights for Friday and Saturday 10-11 or 1115 1145-1 or 115
