Ticket info: www.qtp.redpaint.info

We're a mini festival running on the 2nd bank holiday weekend in May. All our bands and performers share one thing: they're great. They happen to be loosely connected by not being particulary straight, some are even down-right out-and-out homs and dykes. Hey, it's just an excuse for some parties and perhaps a little pinky flirting.

There are 3 gigs, each costs a fiver. But there are a limited number of cute QtP badges for £10 each which will get the wearer into all 3 gigs. Just leave us a comment and we'll get in touch to tell you how you can get one. Or go to
www.qtp.redpaint.info - and click on the buy now button.

Hi all

Just had to let you know that I went to a truly amazing gig last night in Manchester. Tom McRae is one of my favourite singer-songwriters, I last saw him supporting Tori Amos at the Manchester Apollo and I was blown away!

Tom is currently touring with a band of american artistes from the Hotel Cafe. The Hotel Cafe is a tiny venue in L.A. and also the name of the tour that musicians from the venue took across America in 2005 (when guests included KT Tunstall, Aqualung and Imogen Heap).

So I just want to say BUY A TICKET for one of the forthcoming shows - especially in you live in or around Sheffield, as sales there need a boost.

Here's the blurb from Tom's website:

"Hi there, finally, after several attempts and many requests from you, we are bringing the Hotel Cafe tour to the UK. I've been telling people for years about the depth of talent that passes through that little LA venue every year, I've even had a couple of the artists along to open for me in the past. Now, in November and December, you can see for yourself why I love them and wanted to introduce them to you, and to the unique spirit of the Hotel Cafe.

I'll be playing - possibly a new song or two - dragging a curly haired cellist with me, as will Joe Purdy, Cary Brothers, Jim Bianco and Steve Reynolds. We'll have a few special guests here and there as well, just to make it even more chaotic, if such a thing were possible.

These venues are small and this event is not to be missed, it went down a storm in the States last year, and the crew are now embarking on a second tour this month. A Hotel Cafe show is a different sort of gig, with everyone pitching in, helping (or even hindering) each other in an attempt to present music in less formal way. Trust me, it is possible for a bunch of songwriters to smile occasionally. Come and see for yourselves."
