Australia has it's very own version of car racing and this weekend is the famous Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama.  Ford cars battle it out against Holden cars (you'd know  them as Vauxhall cars) for Australian V8 Supercar supremacy - a rivalry that has gone on for generations!  It's a unique Aussie experience and if you can't be there in person to smell the burning rubber, invite your mates around to watch it on TV and cook up a BBQ!

Our Working Holiday Visa competition winner heads Down Under this week and she chose a real corker of a prize.

Twenty-two year old Jenny will be jetting off to the wonderful Whitsunday Islands to help crew a tall ship through the idyllic tropical waters, plus helping at a backpacker hostel on the mainland for a couple of days each week. Looking for a challenge and wanting to get to know likeminded people, it’s the perfect opportunity. Check out our Sail Away and Learn to Earn videos to see Solway Lass, the ship Jenny will be sailing on, and to find out more about Australia’s Working Holiday Visa.

Just imagine walking the white sands of Whitehaven Beach, diving on the Great Barrier Reef then travelling all around Australia meeting friendly locals along the way.  If you like the sound of it and want to get a slice of the Aussie lifestyle for yourself, find out all about Australia Working Holiday Visa on our profile.

The first of our lucky Working Holiday Visa competition winners heads Down Under this week - and yes, we're more than a bit jealous...

Twenty-one year old Lauren Foley is heading down to Australia to begin a 12 month adventure which kicks off with four-weeks paid work at the Prairie Hotel, in an outback town called Parachilna – population just seven people!

When she’s not serving up emu, kangaroo and wallaby on the hotel’s Feral Food menu, Lauren will be swimming with wild dolphins in Adelaide, enjoying wine tasting in the Barossa Valley and seeing kangaroos in their natural habitat on (where else?) Kangaroo Island.

If you like the sound of it and want to get a slice of the Aussie lifestyle for yourself, find out all about Australia Working Holiday Visa on our profile page.

Check out this video: Learn to Earn scheme

Going to Australia for a year on a Working Holiday Visa doesn't have to mean just bar work – there’s also a scheme called ‘Learn To Earn’ which trains young people to be deckhands on sailing trips through the stunning Whitsunday Islands. You'll learn new skills in breathtaking surroundings and get paid for it!
Check out our latest video to see the kind of lifestyle you could be having on the Learn to Earn scheme with a Working Holiday Visa. One of our lucky Working Holiday competition winners will be doing just that in a couple of weeks - and yes, we're more than a bit envious...
