Definition: a day off work sick.  Not that we're encouraging to do this on your working holiday visa!

Twenty-two year old Jenny will be jetting off to the wonderful Whitsunday Islands to help crew a tall ship through the idyllic tropical waters, plus helping at a backpacker hostel on the mainland for a couple of days each week. The first of our lucky Working Holiday Visa competition winners heads Down Under this week - and yes, we're more than a bit jealous...

Twenty-one year old Lauren Foley is heading down to Australia to begin a 12 month adventure which kicks off with four-weeks paid work at the Prairie Hotel, in an outback town called Parachilna – population just seven people!

When she’s not serving up emu, kangaroo and wallaby on the hotel’s Feral Food menu, Lauren will be swimming with wild dolphins in Adelaide, enjoying wine tasting in the Barossa Valley and seeing kangaroos in their natural habitat on (where else?) Kangaroo Island.
