There’ll be gigs taking place at the Roundhouse and other venues across Camden each one brought to you by hot promoters including Eat Your Own Ears (Field Day, Underage Festival), Dice Club (Offset Festival, Vice), Platforms:live (Owl Parliament) and Roundhouse Radio (Project Space 176), Strange Brew (Big Chill Festival, Takeover at the Royal Festival Hall) and the Roundhouse’s own Turning Point.

The artists playing may not yet be as well known as those taking part in the BBC Electric Proms - the Emerging Proms' big brother - but we predict they soon will be.

So come and join us in championing new music.

Follow this link for more information. Get involved!

You've played our building, now play your own!

Play Your Building: create a sound installation in your own home or office using everyday objects, furniture or whatever you've got to hand. Then film and share your creativity for a chance to win tickets to a gig of your choice! How about a symphony of staplers or a cacophony of cake tins?

The Roundhouse is famous for great music - some of the most important bands of the past 50 years have played here. But the Roundhouse is about more than just great performances, we want to be famous for creating great music - and we need you to be a part of it!

This September will see the launch of the Roundhouse Music Collective - a group of 15-20 talented musicians who will become the champions of new music at the Roundhouse and will produce new, cutting edge material and play regular shows at the Roundhouse, including the Main Space, and also tour throughout the UK. We want the Collective to include musicians with different backgrounds and tastes - every style of music and every kind of instrument you can think of is welcome. We’re also looking to have a strong technological edge, so if you have producing skills or work with samples and live looping, this could be for you too.

What we’re looking for:
Musicians, singers, producers and composers who are looking to collaborate and contribute creatively to the group. You’ll need to be able to commit to weekly rehearsal sessions.

When:
Auditions will take place 7, 8, 9 September.

Call 020 7424 8477 or email tanya.auclair@roundhouse.org.uk now to book an audition. Please tell us your name, age, instrument/musical skill, email/phone.

David Byrne's new installation Playing the Building opened on Saturday and it's been really successful so far. We had over 1600 people come in to play it over the opening weekend!  It's an amazing feeling to be in such a huge space and making the whole building rattle, vibrate and hum just by playing the keys on the organ in the middle.

Best bit is if you come on a Monday you can pay whatever you want!

Also, JamAlongs: if you come on 13, 20 or 27 August and bring an acoustic instrument you'll be conducted by Roundhouse artists including Orphy Robinson, Leon Mitchner and Dj Walde.
