Dear Friends,
    I want to say first I am so fortunate to have such fantastic friends!  I had some serious health issues this year; and was overwhelmed by the support and well wishes so many of you sent my way.  I simply can't find the words to express my gratitude.  I was laid up quite a bit and during those times when all I could do was lay on my back and think there were several things I decided I had to do when I got on my feet again.  I had the privilege of getting to communicate with many of you much more than my normal schedule would have allowed and most of you figured out quickly I try not to take anything too seriously as frankly life is way too short.  I would much rather use my time bringing a smile to you all than make political statements or preach.  I broke that rule only twice in my solo career with the songs " No More War " ( Subject matter is pretty obvious on that one;lol! ), and, " Don't Tell " which is about child abuse and domestic violence.  There are some things one simply must speak out against.  This brings me to the point of this blog!
    It is no secret the Holiday Season is upon us again!  It is also no secret this year has been financially disastrous to so many families.  I feel for the parents; but, my heart breaks for the children.  So I propose WE do something to insure at least a few less kids will spend this Christmas cold, hungry and feeling like no one cares about them or their families.  These are obvious needs, it would also be nice to provide some wants.
    I am not starting ROCKERS 4 KIDS we all are.  I am not going to pretend anything is tax deductible or even all that organized yet.  I want to show all the folks who love putting us down for our tattoos, long hair, and wicked ways our hearts are bigger than our hair.  So I am asking all of you to help me start this charity.  If there are some of you that are lawyers who specialize in not 4 profit organizations; give us your counsel.  If your a retailer with a surplus of warm clothing, then lets get it on children who are cold.  If you have the time, make a turkey dinner for a family you know is struggling to get day to day groceries.  Most important I welcome your idea's and will respond quickly if you contact me.
    One thing I am doing is having some ROCKERS 4 KIDS items designed.  I have thought of two ways the kids could benefit.   

1.  We make these available to you guys at normal price, put all profits in trust and hold a vote to decide between a couple of charities ( Such as Ronald McDonald house or St. Judes )  to donate the funds to.

2.  We make these available to you at cost and set up a distribution center where you would select an item for a child, have the item shipped to the distribution center and we will hand deliver your gift to a child who might otherwise receive nothing this Christmas.  If we decide to go this direction I think warm clothing for the winter should be at the top of the list.

3.  One of you come up with a better idea!

    I will ask you all to share your thoughts with me as time is short.  I will be putting a firm plan of action into production on this coming Monday; November 16th, 2009.  I thank you all for taking the time to read this; I truly hope this season is filled with love and joy for you and those you hold dear.  And just maybe, we can spread some of our love and joy to someone who needs a little kindness to restore their faith.
