As always with the house of Ravenous, as one era rides in to the distance on a bmx, another glides in to view on a knackered skateboard. It is the way of things.

So, we bid a fond farewell to Stages Of Dan as they head of or undoubted succes with our blessings. The ethos of Ravenous has always been to help those artists at the very beginning of their careers, the hungriest ones and Stages Of Dan, with a hot EP on the way and labels sniffing round them, just don't fit that description any more.

Never fear though, the next project is already under way. Some of you may have already heard head honcho Roland's first two appearances on Recharge Radio's friday forum but don't worry if you haven't, there will be more! Ravenous has teamed up with Recharged Radio to help promote their fine work and to bring in more listeners. Which is where you come in! Go check out www.rechargedradio.com or visit www.myspace.com/rechargedradio or join the facebook group to see what all the fuss is about but essentially all you need to know is this:

1) Recharged Radio is around to provide a platform or new and emerging artists.

2) You can tune in from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection

3) Shows go out live on Thursdays, fridays, Saturdays and Sundays plus you can download free podcasts after the shows in case you miss them!

4) They are powered by London Tour Dates magazine which makes them super-cool.

So tune in and check it out, let us know what you think. If you're in a band and want some extra exposure then let us know and if you're any good we'll put you forward.

And remember, just because you can't see us doesn't mean we can't see you.......................nice shoes by the way. Are they new?

Morning all.
It's been a bit quiet over at the Ravenous myspace for a while as we have been working hard on the might Stages Of Dan (check 'em out at www.myspace.com/stagesofdan).
Anyway, the guys are going great guns and are playing tonight at the Cavendish Arms Ballroom in Stockwell and then on Monday at the Roundhouse in Camden supporting Skint & Demorlised. There are gigs at the Good ship, The Garage, the Borderline and a Festival or two all booked up for the summer so good times indeed.
Ravenous nights will return (possibly as one-off events) in the not too distant future. But in the meantime you can be safe in the knowledge that if you attended any of our nights in the past you probably saw some future stars in the making. 6 Day Riot, Transformer, Language, Phantom (Lovers), The Winter Kings, Kiran and The Night Owls, Stages Of Dan, Gilbert and Mad Staring Eyes have all gone to much acclaim and to be featured on TV, in Movies and one of them had Ray Winstone's daughter in their new video. I'll leave you to find out who that was! Here's to discovering new talent and here's to you for supporting it.
Have a fun weekend y'all and hope to see you at a Stages Of Dan gig real soon.

Ravenous Promotions End Of Year Report

So 2008 draws to a close and we here at Ravenous Towers thought we’d have a look back and a look forward. Not wanting to be negative we’ve only picked out the best of the best for you below

Live Performance Of The Year: The B Of The Bang (www.myspace.com/thebofthebang)

Possibly the hardest category after numerous outstanding performances we finally settled on the South coasts finest; The B of the Bang. Their set at Ginglik earlier this year pipped the competition to the post because of their entirely acoustic wonder through the venue that felt like a post-apocalyptic folky sing along in a wonderful bunker. Maybe you had to be there….it was awesome nonetheless!

International Band Of The Year: Les Anges (Belgium) (www.myspace.com/lesanges)

One of the first bands of the year down at the Good Ship and they blew the post-Christmas cobwebs away. Heavy rockin’ old school style with the addition of an Osmonds cover and use of a Theremin. Those crazy Europeans.

Comedy Performance Of The Year: Micky P Kerr (www.msypace.com/mickypkerr)

A late addition to one of the Ginglik shows, but what a treat the early birds got. Leeds’ finest troubadour Micky P Kerr came and played a brief selection of his high-larious ditties. Check out his Christmas Crunch song on myspace too!!

Solo Artist Of The Year: Canvey Island (www.myspace.com/canveyisland)

This category was restricted to those artists who played literally on their lonesome and though Canvey Island was a one-man band, he sure did make some noise. Guitar, Drums, Glock, a chair and a beer bottle were all used in a set that blew us all away. One to watch for sure

Band Of The Year: 6 Day Riot (www.myspace.com/6dayriot)

6 Day Riot played two outstanding outstanding sets for Ravenous this year at the Good Ship and Ginglik and both times they absolutely astounded and enchanted the audience. Their new album is out in early 2009 and you’d be a fool to miss this rag-tag bunch of 21st century entertainers

DJ Of The Year: Indiea DJs (www.myspace.com/indiea)

Ever present, ever excellent and ever inventive. Having debuted the Muse vs Streets mix and dared to play Scottish pipe music last Christmas, Indiea DJs then went on to create balletic madness with an airing of ‘Wasn’t It Good?’. Genius Pie

Tips for 2009

Stages Of Dan (www.myspace.com/stagesofdan)

Slightly biased as Ravenous Promotions is almost exclusively working on managing these guys but they really are worth checking out. Not mentioned in any of the categories above so that we could give them the big Hurrah for 2009 but their 2 sets at Ginglik had people smiling all the way home! Catch ‘em while you can!!!

Kiran & The Night Owls (www.myspace.com/kiranandthenightowls)

Kiran Hungin is a gem. No two ways about it. Now she assembled a crack team of musicians to help her shine and we were privileged enough to see their first outing at Ginglik. 2009 will see them record new songs and play gigs all over. Oh and Clint Boon will probably marry them as he seems to be in love

Transformer (www.myspace.com/transformertransformer)

Our favourite Electro-Disco nut balls Transformer just played the NME Christmas Party exactly one year after playing the Ravenous Christmas Party at the Good Ship. Proof if it were needed that we spot ‘em early. And they were on that comedy show Inbetweeners as the Prom band. They’re from Brighton and they’re ace. Nuff said

6 Day Riot (www.myspace.com/6dayriot)

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again until you listen dammit. These guys WILL be massive, do you really want to wait until everyone has already heard of them?

The Winter Kings (www.msypace.com/thewinterkings)

Our biggest regret of the year is not getting the Winter Kings up from Cambridge for more than one show. Their debut album is in the bag and they are playing bigger and bigger shows. If you like your music moody, lyrical and assured then these guys (and gal) are definitely for you

And finally a huge thank you to you the punters, the venues we have worked with and all the bands for making 2008 so good. Ravenous Promotions will be back in 2009 with plenty of Stages Of Dan stuff for you and hopefully some all day events featuring some if not all of the above!

We love you and we want your babies

So, October didn't happen. Boooooo. But November looks AMAZING. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! As this is our last show of 2008 this will be our Halloween/Guy Fawkes/Christmas/New Year show(and Thanks Giving for any poor Yanks out there) so come along and festive with us. It'll probably get messy but hell, we've 5 great bands for you so you might as well enjoy them!!

Mad Staring Eyes (
www.myspace.com/madstaringeyes)

Such was the response to their previous show at STUFFED, we have invited Mad Staring Eyes back for the last show of the year. Their infectious tunes are Maximo Park-ian but their stomp is more akin to the Kaiser Chiefs. XFM described them as the "must have, must see band of the moment" and their new single is to be featured on Gossip Girl - which I am assured is a good thing. Either way, they are an awesome band and especially fantastic live so get your ass down the front!

Little Tremors (www.myspace.com/littletremorsmusic)
One of the hottest of Manchester's latest crop of starlets are Little Tremors. Sandman Magazine said they "invite comparisons with CSS' eccentric and elastic frontwoman, Lovefoxxx, but Little Tremors' sound owes more to the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeah's or The Long Blondes". Chuck in some Ska rhythms and a line-up with model looks and you've got the perfect band right there. Catch 'em while you can!!

Stages Of Dan (
www.myspace.com/stagesofdan)
Fresh from the triumphant In The City show and supporting the Red Walls, London's finest trio roll in to town looking fro mischief. Stages Of Dan do Rock'n'roll the way they used to make it - raw, from the heart, occassionally shambolic and without a British Safety Kitemark in sight! Forget the Kaiser Chiefs, this is how the English should sound!!

Mr Twist (
www.myspace.com/mrtwistband)
Recent signings to Trashed Management and readying themselves for a national offensive, Mr Twist come on hard with poppy hooks laid over thundering rock rhythms. Infectious stuff that ought to be gracing stadiums and festivals before the Credit Crunch is over!

Dan Burn (
www.myspace.com/danburn)
Westcountry troubador turned city-slicking entertainer, it's the stuff of movies - back off Spielberg, I own the rights! Mr Burn writes songs that are instantly hummable but that never grow irritating. Influences like Buckley and Radiohead are fine but it's the elements of My Vitriol and Smashing Pumpkins that make these songs so good!

Plus indieA DJs (www.myspace.com/indiea) until 1.00am

Now with added Micky P Kerr!!!
In addition to the 4 fantastic bands we already had lined up for you next Thrusday we are delighted to announce that the fantastic Micky P Kerr (www. myspace. com/mrkerr) has joined the line-up to play a 30 minute set at the beginning of the evening (on stage around 8.30pm).
Micky is hotly tipped as the next in a long and distinguished line of Northern Singer-Songwriters with a wry sense of humour and a great sense of a tune!!

All this and still only £5 or £4 if you message us for cheaplist! We really are far too good to you people!!

Holler!!!

We at Ravenous are proud to have our first presence at the In The City Festival in Manchester this year. As managers of the marvellous Stages Of Dan (www.myspace.com/stagesofdan) we will be accompanying the band to their performance at the Country Club - one of Manchester's finest monthly events held at the Bay Horse. It will be a feast of delights held on Sunday 5th October so book it in to your diary today!!

We are also extremely chuffed that Ravenous favourites 6 Day Riot have been selected to play at the main event along with the Paris Riots - a fantastic Manchester band who Ravenous had down to the Lark in the Park last year for their first London show.

More proof, if any were needed, that Ravenous is at the cutting edge of music and will continue to bring you the best in new bands as long as we have air in our lungs and ears on the side of our heads!

Get ready our Northern bretheren, Ravenous is coming....

STUFFED 3 was a mega success but now summer is all but over we are expecting even more of you to come crawling back from the pub gardens to the dirty underworld of rock'n'roll. STUFFED 4 brings you the unearthly delights of:

Empire Of Lights (www.myspace.com/empireoflights)
According to the Guardian, Empire Of Lights makes music that provides "wondrous moments of surprise" and that is an under statement to say the least. Epic Indie-Rock is the name of the games with influences from Arcade Fire and Death Cab For Cutie to The National and Radiohead. They are one of the greatest talents to come out of West London and you are strongly advised to catch them while you can!

Olympus Mons (www.myspace.com/theolympusmons)
With bands like At The Drive In and The Cure as their top 2 influences, Olympus Mons were never going to provide you with a staple Indie formula. Their mix of Indie, Roots and elements of Ska makes for a mind expanding but danceable sound. Olympus Mons are creating their own sound and their own scene to go with it. Come and join in!!

The B Of The Bang (www.myspace.com/thebofthebang)
The B Of The Bang is the brain child of one man called Wit. But as with all children, TBOTB has grown up in to a many headed beast. Recently signed to Jelly Maid Music, the dark but melodic stylings of Wit and Co. call to mind the liks of Interpol, the Jesus and Mary Chain and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. With a debut album due at the end of the year, now is the time to catch these Portsmouth based pioneers.

Niall Quinn & Katie Harnett (www.myspace.com/niallquinn)
With a smattering of Americana, some good honest folk and a cracking sense of songwriting, Niall Quinn is quickly emerging as one of the UK's brightest talents. Influenced by the likes of Dylan, Ryan Adams, Gram Parsons and Tom Waits, Quinn can not only tug at your heart strings but play them like an old guitar. Katie Harnett will adding her hauntingly beautiful but deceptively powerful vocals to a selection of Niall's tracks.

Plus IndieA DJs (www.myspace.com/indiea) until 1.00am

Doors open at 7.30 and it' £5 or £4 if you give a definite YES to this invitation.

There have been rumblings for a while that Ravenous might be returning to the world of management and I can now confirm that we have taken the marvellous Stages Of Dan under our wing to guide them to the greatness they deserve.

If you haven't already heard them then check them out at www.myspace.com/stagesofdan and crank it up. Otherwise you can check them out at their Northern debut during In The City (The Country Club @ The Bay Horse, Manchester 5th October) or supporting hotly tipped US band the Redwalls at the Borderline, London on Monday 6th October as well as numerous other shows - including a 2nd appearance at STUFFED in November!

Never fear though, we will still be bringing you the best new bands and the best nights out at STUFFED and, hopefully, keeping the Ginglik open for many years to come. We'd do more if we could but we just got a shiny new stylophone and frankly it's pretty distracting!!

Enjoy the weekend peeps, you've earned it!

Right people, we here at Ravenous Promotions are always giving you ace-of-base nights out and the best new bands around. But now we want something back! Those dastardly dastards at Hammersmith & Fulham Council want to shut down the Ginglik which is where we currently run our fab night STUFFED. Not only do they want to shut it down but they want to needlessly fill it with concrete. We need to show them how important it is for decent music venues to stay open and for the council to support them so we are asking as many of you as possible to go to Facebook and join this group:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=35587928336

If you don't have facebook then leave your support below or go to www.myspace.com/ginglik and let them know you love them.

Thank you people and you can always come and show your support at our next night!!!

Wellity, Wellity, Wellity.

STUFFED part deux came and went with a Kazam! and a Kapow! that would make Adam West proud. Yet another 4 fantastic bands, Birthday fun and some severe ass wiggling to the INDIEa DJs. So, with slapped-backs all round we're doing it for a third time, and this one is coming up fast on 7th August @ The Ginglik, Shepherds Bush.

The third installment of STUFFED is an entirely summery affair so it's time to break out the bermuda shorts and flowery dresses! And if you're lucky we might just give you and ice-lolly or two to enjoy while you marvel at;

6 Day Riot (www.myspace.com/6dayriot)
Fresh from a bunch of critically acclaimed shows at the NXNE festival in Canada, 6 Day Riot return to the UK with their infectious brand of uplifting Folk Pop. There is no point in making comparisons as these guys are so geniunely original that they have to be seen to be appreciated. This is their third outing for Ravenous and we may well marry them at the end of the show!

Deportivo (www.myspace.com/deportivo)
'These guys have something special to give the world' said the Dap and that something is pure, British Indie-pop of the highest order. Early Blur, Squeeze, Supergrass and The Kinks all show through in their music and an energetic live show will leave Deportivo and their music in your head for a long, long time.

Kiran & The Night Owls (www.myspace.com/kiranandthenightowls)
Kiran Hungin's solo career was liberally scattered with success but she always felt something was missing until a flock of Night Owls swooped in to join her. With her merry band of musicians Kiran makes the kind of music that has always and will always be with you. Influences range from Sia and Catherine Feeney to the Doors and Fleetwood Mac.

Betty Steeles (www.myspace.com/iambettysteeles)
Currently recording her debut album A&G Records, Betty is Brixton's own princess of Acoustic-Pop. Her sweet as honey voice lies thickly over warm melodies that contain satisfyingly dark undertones. If any of that made sense to you then Betty is the girl for you and your summer!

Polishing off the night as always will the outstanding INDIEa DJs (www.myspace.com/indiea) playing the finest level of Indie favourites, newbies and cult classics until 1.00am.

As always, it's £5 on the door or message us for the cheap list!
