Well, it's the big Rock Band show at Bank Street School for Children today. I love it!
For those of you who don't know (or anyone who might read this little unread blog) I teach at Bank Street during the week, and my rock band classes are putting on a show and pulling out all the stops tonight!
This semester we are playing "More than a Feeling" by Boston, "Jimmy Olsen's Blues" by the Spin Doctors, "Rock and Roll ain't Noise Pollution" by ACDC, "Baba O Riley" by the Who, and "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin.
Wonderful. My students really work hard and listen well. I'm so proud of them!

What a great trip we had to Dubai a few weeks ago. Noorsaaz is doing good things these days and we are playing out quite a bit. Over the last several months we have been playing in a different city almost every weekend. Seattle, Houston, California, Ohio, Detroit, etc. But Dubai was our first overseas trip.
I felt like there were shades of LA at the turn of the century or Vegas when it rose out of the desert. So much money is pouring into that area, and archetects are having a go at it pretty hard core. Everything is so new and pristine (in much of the city) and full of money. Wow.
And our hosts were incredible. We had the best guides in the world with us all the time. It's amazing the difference in how people treat the arts there (at least in our case) and here. Everyone was great and our show was one of the best that we have played so far. The audience was extremely excited and we fed off of it.
Wonderful. I hope we can get back there soon. We are looking to make Dubai a possible jumping off point for an extended tour of that part of the world, up into Europe then back home. That will take a while to plan but I have faith that it will happen.
I've got the greatest job in the world!
