“When I was five years old, my parents gave me a magic
chest. I learned to cast spells, although of a childish kind, before I had
learned to read and write.” ~Wolfgang Hildesheimer

The 303rd in a series of OOAK "aLterED" creations from the dArK
cobwebbed filled hemisphere of my brain. Creation date: June 2, 2009
Signed For your consideration, Harry, the Great. This little wooden chest
of drawers measures 12 x 7 1/4 x 4 inches and has undertones of blue, distressed
and painted black. The two doors are blue with paintings of the sun, moon and
clouds. On the right door is a lock, on the left is a key attached to a beaded
wire. Inside the chest you'll find Harry Houdini, amongst other things. Harry
measures 5 3/4 inches tall and his bones are made of "aged" plastic. Harry is
"wearing" an aged pair of "shorts" and is bound in silver chains with a brass
lock. I'm sure he'll escape soon as he was brillant in his execution of this
feat! Completing this creation are the following items: various aged signs, an
aged photo of Harry, various playing cards and a hanging rusted chain with rusty
bell attached (listen for the bell to ring, perhaps Harry has escaped!). In the
drawer is a description of Harry, "King of Handcuffs," by the Houdini Magical
Hall of Fame and a key. In the other drawer is an aged card and aged
sign. This chest can be used to store your magical items!! Please note
that this dark & lovely decoration can take up precious space on any flat
surface (preferably in your home) & would make a lovely addition to any home
if you appreciate the eclectic side of life! If you have a question, please
feel free to scratch a note to me via email and I would be more than deliriously
happy to respond. Also if you have time or the inclination, please check out my
other unusual offerings........ I do combine shipping and run to the Post Office
every other day with the exception of the weekends. Thank you so much for
gracing my doorstep......please come back again... ^v^

“Life is filigree work. What is written clearly is not worth
much, it's the transparency that counts.” ~Louis Ferdinand Celine

=Special order, please allow 2 weeks for me to craft this
item= This is my latest design, in which I combined a heart locket, with the
beauty of brass filigree. Gorgeous intricate patterns of flowers, birds and
other victorian motiffs decorate all the filigree parts of the choker, while
numerous Swarovski crystals and pearls sparkle in olivine, bronze and golden
colours. The locket is adorned by a beautiful rose, and is completely
functional, allowing a small photo or solid perfume to be kept inside. All the
beads are Swarovski, including the olivine baroque pendant hanging from the
locket. Its length is 32-40 cm (12.5-15.5 inches) but can be made longer or
shorter upon request. All components are nickel and lead free, brass
filigree, brass stampings and genuine Swarovski crystal.

Pillbox Designs is yet another alter ego for my better half and I. We have been in business for about 6 years under the names Pillbox Tales (Our lighter Side) and Immortal Tales (Our Darker Side). We both are creative people and enjoy making things. Both were online retail shops that catered to the alternative scenes including Rockabilly, Goth and Indie. We retailed clothing, shoes and accessories from various manufacturers, as well as our own line of custom made Corsets, clothing and T-shirts. Our professional and private lives forced us to close our doors in 2007. Now we are back and ready to create again.
Pillbox Designs started as an idea to create Vinyl Wall Graphics that suited our lifestyle and of people like us. In the coming months we will be gradually adding designs and if you don't see a design you like or have an idea that you have to have let us know and we will work with you to make it happen.

Designed for elegant ladies in the steampunk set, this mini top
hat is inspired by Victorian riding hat designs, but with a neo-mechanical
flair. This hat is made of black felt, measuring 5.5 inches long by 4.75
inches wide, including the brim. It is adorned with a large "pad" of feathers in
tan with dark brown accent feathers, a two-tone style of pad that we have only
in limited supply. The band is made of glittery coppery-tan tulle and forms a
bow at the back of the hat with short tulle tendrils that hang down the
back. The hat is finished with a hand-made steampunk adornment, of watch
gears and cogs hand-set in resin in the back of a vintage clear watch crystal
with brass-colored edging. Each of our steampunk adornments is one of a kind.
The photos show one example of our adornments. Please look at our blog at
joeireedhats.livejournal.com for other examples, or send us a convo to see a
photo of specific pieces we currently have in stock. The hat is sewn to a
hair comb, in a style called a fascinator, for easy attachment to any hairstyle.
All adornments are hand-sewn and securely attached. This hat is MADE TO
ORDER. It will be custom made when your order is received, which can take up to
a week.

This is a one of a kind upcycled steampunk jacket from
re-Shawked Stitches. I took a brown velvet blazer and adorned it will vintage
laces, trims, and other goodies. I also relined the jacket in a dictionary print
silk lining. It closes with 4 black large snaps and have keys for decoration. It
also laces up at the back waist to give a fitted look if you like. It was
inspired by a mix of Victorian and military. I make other versions of these but
each one is truly one of a kind. Lots of hand sewing goes into making sure
everything in impeccably placed. This is a great jacket for fall and
winter! This is a S/M sized jacket. Measures: Flat across chest
18.5. waist: 16 shoulder to shoulder: 15.5 shoulder to wrist: 24 (not
including lace) Let me know if you need any other measurements! Note:
