We've been mixing down a whole bunch of new tunes from out rehearsal tapes and should have something for you to hear very soon, (as promised). In the meantime, please tell us what you've been listening to, I feel like something fresh and new. Give it to me!

Dang! Just finished jamming with the boys... and we are coming up with some new stuff that we're very excited about. It feels really good to be writing.

Mark brought a new drum kit over to the practice space, and Russ added a Moog to his rig. Lots of new sounds and grooves! We will post some new bits soon.

Russ and I got together last night for a song polishing/writing session. We came up with a great groove to use for a B part for one of our new tunes. I got a lesson in creating loops in my Ableton Live software. Even though I have over 20 years of recording under my belt, I have to admit, I haven't done much looping in Ableton Live... Usually just straight recording, editing, &c... (although I do have the Boomerang Loop station in my guitar rig).

The creative juices (organic) are all flowing these days.

I'm sitting here in the backyard porta-studio laptop control center listening back to takes of some new tunes, and I have to tell you... I'm excited! We plan to get some solid recordings of these tunes and put out something new very soon.
Check this page periodically as the gig calendar should be filling up, as we plan to bring the new tunes to you so that you can judge them yourself. I think you'll be pleased.

And remember, if you're going to Burning Man... bring the sun screen. Don't be the wo/man who got burnt.

After almost being shut down by the police in the panhandle, (this is the first year they've required a permit to play in the park), we moved the party across Fell Street to the corner of Ashbury.  We quickly tore down and set up on the sidewalk and began playing just as the race started...  and we didn't stop until the last runner passed us four hours later! 

Thanks to all for dancing and listening and making REK's B2B 2007 a memorable one.

We'd like to extend and extra special thank you to all the folks who helped lug our gear to and fro, and to those who fed us drinks and food throughout.   

We had an awesome trip up to Yosemite over the weekend of April 20th. We'd like to thank all the great folks up in El Portal who really made us feel at home.

We've decided that we will feature a song from recent rehearsal jams exclusively here on myspace. These will be unedited, sometimes completely improvised, jams that you can hear only here on the REK myspace page. We will use the other one or two spots to feature songs from our various demos or live recordings. This should give you a good idea of what we sound like and what we've been up to lately.
