Hey everybody!

I come to you for strictly important matters. I wouldn't make you read this if it wasn't necessary!

Anyways!:

My other band, Ekkardia, has entered into an independent christian music contest right now. We are trying our darndest to win. But we won't be able to without your help.

If we do win, it would mean some really great help for us as a band including a new record! And since we are poor, this is a very economical idea.

I know you're asking "HOW CAN I VOTE?!"

Let me answer as best as I can in step form! (it's kind of tedious and I apologize. Please help!)

STEP 1 – Go to http://indie.gospelmusicchannel.com/signup_fan.php

STEP 2 – Create your fan account (Unfortunately, you can’t vote without the account, but minimal personal information is required….no payment necessary)

STEP 3 - Check your e-mail address you provided them with and confirm your address (you only have to do this once.)

STEP 4 - Once you're logged in, search for us (Ekkardia) or just click HERE:
http://indie.gospelmusicchannel.com/contest.php?sid=176&aid=54939&mid=42312&mtype=1

STEP 5 - Click "Vote for This Artist."
(this is the most important part!)

You can vote once a day, every day. So please come back once a day and click "Vote for This Artist," Please!

I know this is a lot to ask, but could you invite a few friends to this event?

Please help. We will be forever thankful!

I would just like to say that in the last few months as we draw closer to voting day (November 4th), I have noticed a very prevalent TREND among young people who are planning to vote. I feel the media is very biased to one side of the ballot, which is expected and I'm ok with that.

I am not ok, on the otherhand, with people pressuring young voters everywhere to feel that they can't think a certain way.

Let me just say, Democrat or Republican: VOTE!
Don't let the media, peers, and bands make you feel like you are evil for making your own voting decision.

STEER CLEAR of politics on myspace and mtv! Most of the celebrity's that write aren't the best roll models in the world; their political views aren't much better!

Don't just vote for one candidate because of a commercial you saw of theirs that looked cool. That's dumb. Read up, KNOW who you are voting for.
Don't just watch ONE news source. Watch several. This will help you sift through the BIASED news and maybe you'll be able to see both sides a bit better.

Try this: Look at some of the questions these candidates are being asked on IMPORTANT issues during interviews. Before reading or listening to THEIR answer, make your own decision on how you feel.

Don't let someone else decide how you feel about something.
That's stupid.

Every vote counts. Which is why every American should be independent in the way they think.

I don't have much else to say.
I'm not going to plug a candidate, or bash another.
I feel this blog isn't the place for it.

Feel free to comment on this. But don't bash any candidate or I will let the air out of your tires on Tuesday. I will also make fun of you here, on myspace, for all to see.

Everyone, I'm married now!
Yah.

Jillian and I are going to post some wedding pics eventually.
But for now we're scoping out our favorites until we decide to share them with the world.

But, I put one up as my default right now is one from our honeymoon roadtrip this week. We went to a number of different places, one being the Lincoln Museam in Springfield, IL. Go check it out.

And FYI about Abraham Lincoln:
He was 6'4, and I'm 6'5. But the faux Abe that was up at the museam stood taller than me. Was it because he had thick shoes and I had flip-flops on? Who knows?

But, you should know. I am taller than Abe, honest.

Currently Listening to: "Time Is Fiction" by Edison Glass.
Currently Ingesting:
Caffeinated Coffee with 2% Milk and some sugar.
Currently Sitting: Rolly Chair.

I think it's safe to say that I've turned into a working fool."the Man" has me in his grasp.I'm blown away by how hot it is outside. The humiditiy is killing me.No a/c at work. No a/c at home. No a/c in the car. You'd think I gave it up for lent. But I'm not Catholic. And I'm glad for it. Because I would be in the confession booth every day.I'm a really bad person. Forgiven, but still an awful person.

Did I mention that I've got four rad friends that play music with me at Owen Pye shows now? yeah. the 5 of us play that music together, in addition to the church worship band "Ekkardia" - which means 'wholeheartedly' and Versus the Lion. 5 guys. 3 bands. Bizarre! It's a huge blessing to have the opportunity to play in a band again. And to have rad friends that I hang out with on a somewhat frequent basis....

Only 21 more minutes before I have to get ready to head in to work.
Did I mention I work 40-56 hours a week? It's exhausting, but worth it.God's blessed me with a great job, and I am very thankful.

Do you guys ever go through slumps where you feel like you are forgetting to do something, but can't remember what it is?

I feel like that. All the time.

love,
owen

Think you are cut-out for the OP Street Team?

We are still needing more people to sign up for the Owen Pye Street Team that is about to launch.

We tried one about a year ago, but it was very short lived.

There are still a lot of awesome people out there like you that have been telling their friends about Owen Pye since the start in 2005. And I just really want you guys to stick with it.

This will help us (me, and a few other people putting this thing together) see who these people are, so that we can return the favors when possible.

So PLEASE, sign up for the Street Team. The application takes about 2 minutes, and is more like a sign-up sheet than anything.

If you have a friend that loves OP, tell them about it to:

Hey guys. I wanted to write and say to all of you "Merry Belated Christmas."

The new SPLIT-EP "Looking Up" is now available on iTunes for purchase.
My 3 songs are finally up for download and cost a whopping $2.97.

I'm hoping that you guys have $3 laying around or an iTunes gift card, and are able to purchase this CD.

I just recently proposed to my Fiance, Jillian, as most of you know by now.
By purchasing these three songs, you not only get music that I will recognize as my best stuff yet, but you also get to help me make that extra step each day to starting a family of my own.

By the end of August I will be married. I absolutely cannot wait.

I love you guys. And I hope you like the music. Click the pic below to go to iTunes Music Store. Every penny helps me keep doing what I do.
God bless you guys.
