Hey everyone,

What a journey we've been on together, from the first gigs at Spring Harvest in 2001, to the recording of the first Quench EP, to the recording of Afterglow and the subsequent tour and awards in 2003; the gigs all over the place and our most recent recording Reality Radio, finally released in 2008. It's been a great adventure and we wanted to let you know what's new with us.

Quench has always been about two things - The hope of Jesus in the reality of life, and making great rock music. Great rock music that is a credible alternative to other similar genre bands in the mainstream - an alternative that speaks hope into life, light into darkness and joy into pain. We feel that we have been faithful to that vision in every stage of the band's life and we are so thankful for all that God has done with us and through us.

We have had amazing stories from you guys and many other people saying 'I never knew that Christians produced music like my favourite secular bands' we've had others saying that somehow through us, God has built them stronger, or called them to use their musical gifts to do something similar to us. We have always held out very clearly that while God has stuff for us to do, we'll do it, and at every stage of our life we have sought God on this and asked the question "Is there more for us to do with Quench?"

It is with all this in mind that we have come to the conclusion that Quench's time has come to an end. This is a really sad thing for us but we are peaceful about the decision. God has always been faithful to us and we must also be faithful enough to call it a day now we feel He is asking us to close this chapter of our lives. We all love each other very much, we haven't had 'musical differences', no one has fallen from grace or lost the plot, we just feel that God has new things for us to invest in and the season of Quench is over. "I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." John 12:24

With this in mind, our gig on Saturday 29th August at the Greenbelt Festival will be our LAST GIG. This gig is going to be a special one, with a specially selected 'greatest hits' set list and a lot of laughs and tears! You can be sure that we'll go out with a bang and we'd love it if you guys could be there with us to celebrate the life of Quench! Check out the Greenbelt website for tickets.

Being part of Quench has been a real privilege and we would LOVE it if you could write stories about what Quench has meant to you, on our Myspace and Facebook pages.

All that is left to say is THANK YOU to all those who have believed in us over the years. Thanks to the managers and promoters - Affinity and Top Dog; thanks to the record company - Elevation; thanks to all the great friends we've made along the way, including the great bands we've been fortunate to meet and play alongside; EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to YOU, the QUENCH FANS who kept coming to our shows, listening to our music and wearing our T Shirts with pride - we appreciate you so much; and last but definitely not least, thanks to God for a great time and for the privilege of serving Him by playing the music we love. We know and trust that whatever God began through Quench, He will see through to completion.

As for the future, we hope that we will record some previously unreleased tracks and release them as a thank you to you all. Keep an eye on the Quench web pages for details. We will also send out some info on what we're all doing so that you can keep in touch. I'm sure we will all be involved in musical projects in the future and we may even all be involved together again - who knows? This is the end of a season, but as we all know, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Thank you all so so much,

Grace and peace,

Jamie, Andy, Mark, Ed

Hey friends,

We've just had an awesome weekend. We played some 'secret' shows at the Greenbelt Festival and it was incredible. They were so secret that WE didn't even know we were playing until the Friday afternoon.

Thanks SO much to all you guys who came out to see us. We were genuinely BLOWN AWAY when so many of you showed up to see our acoustic show on stage 2 on Sunday as well as the other impromptu shows in the CD shop etc. We obviously impressed the right people because at 10:30pm on Sunday, we got a phone call saying that YFriday had pulled out of Greenbelt due to illness and would we like their slot? Well D'UH! :-D

So we returned on the Monday and totally ROCKED the joint. Again, thanks so much to you guys for showing up and singing along. It was such a privilege to be on the same bill as Fightstar and US punk legends MXPX. We finished up with a chilled out performance cafe show, which was more stand up comedy than actual music, and we had a blast.

Thanks again for your support. Thanks for buying Reality Radio. We love doing what we do, and as long as you guys keep showing up at our gigs like you did last weekend, we'll keep doing it!

Keep it Reality Radio

This is a historic day! We can finally announce that as of today, our awesome new 4 track EP "Reality Radio" is NOW OFFICIALLY RELEASED and is available to buy on iTunes. Please head over to the iTunes store, download the songs and then tell us what you think of them online at facebook and myspace. Thanks for being patient with us and we promise you that the wait has been truly worth it - Reality Radio ROCKS! We're so proud of these songs and we're excited to hear what you think - this is rock made by rock fans for rock fans!

Here's the lowdown on the new EP: The"Reality Radio" EP, is the long awaited follow up to Quench's award winning debut album "Afterglow." "Reality Radio" features four stunning new tracks of pure 21st Century Rock, each with its own distinct message and vibe.
From the sledgehammer riffs of "Identity Crisis" to the more progressive "No More Pretending," to the melodic radio anthem "Chameleon" to the darker "Consuming Destroyer" Quench have delivered their finest work yet, placing them soundly alongside the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Story Of The Year, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds To Mars. Quench's inspired decision to work with legendary rock producer Joe Gibb (Funeral For A Friend, Jane's Addiction, Brigade etc) has enabled them to faithfully capture the band's incendiary live sound, providing the perfect sonic landscape for their passionate lyrics.

We've also got a bonus for you - it's a YouTube video for the song Chameleon shot at last month's Alton gig. Think you could do better? We know there are many budding video directors out there, and we want to give YOU the chance to be a star of Reality Radio by making your own rock videos for the Reality Radio songs! Just upload your efforts to YouTube, send us the links and we'll send the winning videos some prizes and feature your handiwork on the Quench Official myspace page! You can go for artistic, powerful, or just plain funny - we'd love to see something that makes us laugh out loud! Here's a couple of other videos done by Quench fans: Afterglow and Identity Crisis

Once you're heard the new songs, you'll obviously want to hear us tearing them up live, so here's where you can see us live in concert:

* Tuesday 2nd September in Cheltenham at the 2 Pigs.
* Friday 3rd October at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford (18+)

* For details of these gigs, and to check for new dates added, please go to www.myspace.com/quenchuk

Hey friends,

It's a real uphill struggle sometimes when you're a minor label band trying to get things done without the clout and money and staff of a major label. However, we've done it! Yes, Quench have finally sealed distribution for our new EP "Reality Radio" and it has already been uploaded to the Apple iTunes Store. We're just waiting for them to put it online, so in the next few weeks all our hard work will have paid off. Thanks for sticking with us and waiting patiently. This new EP is KILLER so we are 100% sure that you'll feel it was worth the wait when you hear it in full.

Also, for you guys who also use Facebook, Quench now have a brand new music page.

Hey everyone,

We've been bombarded with questions about why "REALITY RADIO" is not
yet released, so we thought it was about time we told you the latest
information! The GOOD NEWS is that we are in talks this week to
finalise distribution ON ITUNES FOR A JANUARY 2008 RELEASE! "But why
the wait?" we hear you cry! Well, it's all down to the 'mastering'
process. If you want to find out what that's all about, this week
the Quench boys recorded an EXCLUSIVE VIDEO especially for you and
put it up on YouTube. Along with the usual cheeky gags and random
banter, the video explains all, along with some sound clips and
visuals from the live show and from behind the scenes in the studio.

You can view this video here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5IqG0YwW2s )
If you check out the other YOUTUBE videos on the MARKCGUITAR CHANNEL,
you can also see a couple of 'secret' videos for two of Reality
Radio's songs: "NO MORE PRETENDING" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QscnpEOF1BA )(with some cool live
shots and studio pics) and "IDENTITY CRISIS" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRj3eGFPN2U ) (to the visuals of
Doctor Who!). If you're a YouTube user, PLEASE GIVE US 5 STARS AND
LEAVE US A NICE COMMENT! There's also a few retro movies from Quench
in years gone by! Spread the word.

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd just take this opportunity to let you guys know that yesterday we finished recording a brand new 4 track EP! It's our first recording since 2003's award winning "Afterglow" album.

We decided to record this as a taster for our second album and it has 4 brand new tracks:

1. Identity Crisis
2. No More Pretending
3. Chameleon
4. Consuming Destroyer

We went into the studio with legendary producer Joe Gibb (and his Howard Donald look-a-like side-kick Gethan Woolcock), the man behind some awesome rock recordings by the likes of Brigade, Funeral For A Friend, Mark's heroes 3 Colours Red, and Jane's Addiction, oh and did we mention he also worked with Madonna, Michael Jackson and Travis (although he got fired from the Travis sessions for being too ROCK and not easy listening enough - our kinda guy!)

We fought gale force winds, flu bugs, insomnia, and many other nasties but came out triumphant and made a recording that will blow you all away. We feel it really captures the Quench live sound and kicks a lot more that Afterglow, without losing our trademark sound and catchy melodies. This sounds like Quench at the top of our game....and it's about time too!

So yeah, you heard it here first - we'll be releasing teasers and audio clips on the myspace page over the next few weeks and as soon as we're ready to unleash it upon the world, we'll let the fans know first - so subscribe to the mailing list via the link on our myspace page and you'll get all the exclusive news.

Hey guys,

Firstly, we have a new gig!  Peterborough on Saturday 24th June!  We've been a bit quiet recently as Ed has had his finals and Jamie has been moving house and preparing to get married in July, but we thought we'd squeeze this gig into the diary in case you forget we still ROCK!

Also - fancy owning a piece of QUENCH rock history?  Mark is selling his prized Gibson Flying V on Ebay at the moment!  If you want to take a gander and place your bid - go to http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7422998413&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:UK:1

Cheers for your support.

New album?

Hey guys,

We get SO many questions about when our new album is coming out and about how you love the new songs we've been playing live.  We are excitied about recording album number 2 as soon as possible but we won't do it until we are 100eady with the best songs possible and the assurance that it will be recorded in such a way that ROCKS - you know what we sound like live - we want the next record to sound like THAT!

Over the next month or so we are taking a short break from gigging and we're going to demo some of our new songs with the aim of getting them out!  We may even post them here on myspace if you're lucky.

The songs we will be demoing are:

No More Pretending

Who Do You Say I Am

Identity Crisis

You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) (Cover Version!)

Consuming Destroyer

Summertown

Plus a few more that are hot off the presses - including Chameleon - a brand new song about the last girl who ripped my heart and put it through a blender! (anyone seen Rock Star starring Mark Wahlberg?  Awesome movie!)

So that's the news on the new album.  Thanks for being patient with us and keeping up your support.  The Zodiac gig last Friday was amazing - it was truly humbling to hear you all singing the words to Afterglow loudly from the mosh pit.  We'll keep writing those kinda songs and playing them for you as long as you're still connecting with them like that!  We really appreciate your support.

Until next time - you're not hardcore unless you LIVE hardcore!

Hey everyone,

This is Quench's first blog on the myspace site!  Hey we get there in the end!  This is such a great place to check out bands and meet new people.

Please check out our music and send a link to our page to all your friends!  There are two exclusive live tracks on our page which have previously been unavailable anywhere - the original versions appear on our Afterglow album.  So yeah, hope you like them. They are straight off the sound desk with no overdubs or editing so they're pretty raw - the way rock and roll should be, right!?

We have been busy writing new songs recently so sorry to all you guys who have been missing us playing live since the summer festivals.  The good news is that we recorded a live DVD at one of the shows and we'll be editing this soon for a release in early 2006.

Other pages to check out on myspace are Fono, Entrace Thesisand Mandora.  You may not have heard of them before but they are all well worth a listen.

Later,

Mark C
