I’ve been trying to find new friends on myspace who share green values. So naturally, I’ve been seeing tons of google and other ads on myspace. Because my page is political, a lot of the ads ask if Hillary will win or if Obama will be elected. Then there is a Yes or No choice. I’ve noticed that whether you click the Yes button or the No button, you get the same result. I find that very appropriate for an election. Just on the surface, you get the same status quo by sticking with the Republican/Democrat duopoly. Then, of course, there is the deeper finding that all you have done is let a commercial business lead you down the road they want. Corporations control the flow of information, the direction of the discussions, and the anointment of 2 choices. Either one will allow business as usual. Either choice just tricked into into supporting their goals.
Oh, another thought - since the Yes click or the No click are the same - they don’t really care what you think, and it doesn’t matter.
