1/ Hey Girls ! Can you tell us about the way and the reasons you formed HPR?

Laura - It was sort of a happy accident
Lowri - no-one else would be in a band with me and there were too many boring bands around
Kate - because because why??? i dunno i love these guys!

2/ How would you describe your music?
Kate - fucking amazing!

3/ Tell us about being a pop band in Manchester. What are the bands from here that you recommend?
Lowri - it's a good job to have in Manchester - I was spotted once in sainsbury's that was a high point!
Kate - i would recommend warm widow, i think they are my favourite band of all time! and breaking colts
Lowri - Your Orange Coat
Kate - Circus Scribble
Laura - Elvis in Disguise is always a top night out at good value (available for weddings, birthdays, barmitzvah etc elvisingisguise@yahoo.co.uk)

4/ What is your favourite and your worst gig souvenir ( I mean HPR gig)?
Kate - We played a festival in Athens Georgia that was sponsored by Sparks (the alcoholic energy drink not the band) and we got some good merchandise from that... and an orange tongue
Laura - Weird but brilliant art works featuring a lot of clip art and us! they're kind of the best and worst at the same time
Lowri - A t-shirt at Pierre's house but that doesn't really count it wasn't a gig

5/ What are your occupations when you are not rocking in your hotpants?

Lowri - this is a full time job you know
Laura - art work, care work, bar work, dressing as priscilla presley to manage a top elvis tribute artist, you name it!
Kate - world famous mountain climber

6/ Have you ever played outside of the UK and if not, where would you like to perform?

Laura - yes! we have played in Berlin and the USA!!
Lowri - I would like to play in Jordan so I can go and see my friend Kat
Laura - I would like to play in Huddersfield but we are not allowed
Lowri- anywhere sunny really
Kate - Primavera sound festival if the promoters are reading this!
Laura - yes that would be perfect!
Lowri - basically anywhere that isn't Dudley


7/ If you could do a world tour with a band of your choice, which one would you choose?

Kate - The Jesus Lizard but I'm not sure we would survive or Cars Can Be Blue because I am in love with them
Lowri - The Breeders or the Barberries
Laura - The Ronettes or the Motown tour bus!

8/ What is your best musical memory ( show you saw, song you’ve heard...)?

Lowri - being banned from the school choir and those kids that were singing along to our songs in valdosta and being on the front row for patti smith
Laura - sitting in the car at salford quays and managing to get the car radio working! and Heatwave came straight on by Martha and the Vandellas! and we started singing along!
Kate - Watching patti smith in spain, i cried, she was so amazing. watching shellac on a random glaswegians shoulders by the sea, and listening to roadrunner in the tour bus in america!
Laura - dancing and singing to beach boys songs in the tour bus in america!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lowri - i remember born to be wild came on and it was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kate- get your motor running
lowri - on the highway it was amazing!!!

9/ What bands where you listening to when youwere 16/17? ( please be honest, don’t cheat ;) 

Laura - kenickie, hefner (i had a big obsession) and mostly the ramones AND country music
Kate - the pixies and my mum's Eurythmics records!
Lowri - Madonna and L7

10/ What music are you listening to at the moment?
Kate - The last few records I have bought have been an instrumental surf record and Sic Alps and Mark Kozolek
Lowri - Madonna and L7
Laura - Loretta Lynn DVD and Nancy Sinatra and Fifties Rock n roll great the box set

after a heartbreaking two days of detention centres and snide custom officials at manchester airport cars can be blue have been deported this morning. they have been seperated, interrogated, and treated like criminals.

we are going to lobby mp's and campaign for better treatment of bands and our dear friends becky and nate (if you know any crooked mp's or judges let us know so we can give them a back hander)

on saturday we were honoured to play at the remembering Slampt fest in Newcastle.. we saw a film about the good times at Slampt and how good it is to make music and fanzines without needing to have a load of money....
