One year on from its inception, Kscope releases Volume 1, a selection of tracks taken from an already substantial back catalogue, along with two tracks from forthcoming releases.

In recent years, a growing movement of bands has started to reclaim and reinvent aspects of the progressive, post-punk and post rock genres, re-establishing a desire to experiment with eclectic musical sources and state of the art widescreen sonic possibilities.

Kscope was created to provide a home for this evolving and adventurous style of music without boundaries, and was launched in May 2008 with new albums from its first signings The Pineapple Thief and No-Man.

These releases have been followed by albums from the legendary likes of Anathema and Porcupine Tree/Japan keyboard player Richard Barbieri, and highly rated newcomers such as Italian band Nosound and Lunatic Soul (the solo project of Riverside's Mariusz Duda).

2009 is already shaping up to be an equally exciting year for Kscope with Insurgentes, the debut solo album from Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson, and releases from the critically acclaimed Engineers and Swedish enigmas Anekdoten.

1. The Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound
2. Lunatic Soul - Lunatic Soul
3. No-Man - Truenorth (edit)
4. Engineers - Brighter As We Fall
5. Anekdoten - Gravity
6. North Atlantic Oscillation - Drawing Maps from Memory
7. Richard Barbieri - Decay
8. Nosound - Kites
9. Anathema - Flying
10. Steven Wilson - Harmony Korine

More details concerning the Lunatic Soul release have come to light recently. Mariusz Duda, Riverside's singer and bass player, together with fellow musicians, has just finished working on his new album, "Lunatic Soul." The release date has been set for October 13th, 2008. The album will be released on the British label Snapper Music, more specifically - Kscope, known for having released the earlier albums of Porcupine Tree, and presently producing Anathema and No-Man. The album will be released in Poland on Mystic Production. On the Lunatic Soul album you will find 10 atmospheric tracks making up 47 minutes of music.

Mariusz Duda: "I touched upon a vital subject on this record, namely... death. What came out of this was  a conceptual journey to the world beyond full of reflections on transience and all we may want to leave after we pass (if we want to leave anything). In the sphere of music, it will be intriguing. I would call those sounds oriental-alternative, not really having anything in common with progressive rock. An interesting fact is that there is no electric guitar at all."
