The Grand Korean Waterway is a proposed 540-kilometer (336 mile) long canal connecting Seoul and Busan, two of South Korea's largest cities. The canal would run diagonally across the country connecting the Han River, which flows though Seoul into the Yellow Sea, to the Nakdong River, which flows through Busan into the Korea Strait. The proposed canal would be 540 kilometers in length and traverse difficult mountainous terrain. However, the length of the construction would only be 40 km linking the Han River with the Nakdong River.

this project of making 1 big river from 4 rivers existing now would be a real ecological disaster if it comes to realisation.
it will destroy ecosystems and it will be impossible to step backward afterthat.
this project is the one of the new korean president, and it is clear that the main reason is not the use of the grand canal but the economic boom while it is constructing.

In keeping with the principle of collective security, for which he was an outspoken proponent,Haile Selassie I sent a contingent under General Mulugueta Bulli, known as the Kagnew Battalion, to take part in the UN Conflict in Korea. It was attached to the American 7th Infantry Division, and fought in a number of engagements including the Battle of Pork Chop Hill.[73] In a 1954 speech, the Emperor spoke of Ethiopian participation in the Korean conflict as a redemption of the principles of collective security:

"Nearly two decades ago, I personally assumed before history the responsibility of placing the fate of my beloved people on the issue of collective security, for surely, at that time and for the first time in world history, that issue was posed in all its clarity. My searching of conscience convinced me of the rightness of my course and if, after untold sufferings and, indeed, unaided resistance at the time of aggression, we now see the final vindication of that principle in our joint action in Korea, I can only be thankful that God gave me strength to persist in our faith until the moment of its recent glorious vindication."
