So we're back from Rennes where we played Transmusicales Festival and what a great time we had!

We've not played many shows in France but the support we've got out there and the response we've had to our shows has been immense. Thanks to everyone who came down to our late, late show at 1.45am. We'd worked out that we had been up for over 24 hours by the time we finished the gig. We were utterly shattered but enjoyed every moment of it!!!!

There is nothing more euphoric than being on the cusp of actual collapse due to lack of sleep and triumphing at something as exhausting and exhilarating as doing a great gig!!!

Thanks again for showing your support and making our trip to France so enjoyable!!!!

We'll be back!

Just a little update from Bird Headquarters in Bethnal Green.
As ever, many thanks for the ongoing messages, comments, friend requests and everything else that constitutes Bird support. We really appreciate it and love to meet new fans so you shall all definitely hear back from us!!
Last week was a pretty tough week in Bird camp. We decided to part ways with our manager and we are just about to embark on a French tour and UK tour in the next couple months. It was a decision we felt mutually benefitted all parties concerned and I don't want to start waffling and using politically correct neutral unemotional jargon but we really did get on with our manager and it's a real shame but sometimes you have to make decisions which are the best for you in the short and long run and this was one of those. It was the best move to make that would keep us all continually happy, healthy and sane.
But as this week cracks on by, new opportunities have arisen and we are looking forward to new horizons - both in touring, recording and with people to work with.
We are back on the live gig circuit just after a mere 10 days away with 2 gigs this week - one at the ICA on wed and at Bardens Boudoir on Thurs. We are very excited about both of them and hope to see you there!
Also please stay tuned for a few announcements which will hopefully be made by the end of this week.
Hope you had a great Easter weekend and love to you all,
D-Bird

Current mood:  frustrated
There's no real sense of community in London. There is the press' view of the current London 'community' music scene and there's the reality. The two are very different things.

The problem that I continually find is people are only after their own gain. You are just another means by which they could possibly get somewhere.
That's not right. That's not what being an artist or a musician, or even a friend is about. My whole life I've always tried to help people and connect people with their interests and talents as that what I feel human nature is about. Not forming faux friendships to 'play the game'. There is no game! You can get far by being talented, nice and polite. Why don't people realise that?

I've come up with a new experiment. Bands like The Dandy Warhols run a massive warehouse space in Portland where friends, travellers, bands, fans can come by and crash and hang out. I think that's amazing and would love to do that if I had the money.

However I don't. But my idea is this. Organising a band of which all the members are transient. If you are in town and we are, we jam, do an impromptu gig and remember the fun we had that night. Guest guitarists, bassists, singers, drummers. Just good people with good music taste hanging out. Pooling together talent and testing our creativeness. Everyone is too damn secular these days. Snap out of it folks! Apparently we only have one life and I personally want to live this to a full - on a musical, poetical, spiritual level.

Join me, why don't you?
