seems to me like i've been making a positive impact in the zydeco industry and i would love to see the future artist do the same so i have a few tips that i used when i first started just a short few ago.

1.) Respect the poineers of zydeco. Play there music even if its one song a nite. Pay repect to them because they paved the way for our zydeco community today.

2.)Always have a vision as to where you want to be in the industry.(I.E. Local, National, International). Remember that the road is different from the local scene.

3) Never, ever, ever ,ever, ever borrow equiptment from another artist in yourcategory. Trust me it's jus a bragging right on part of the borrowee most of the time. Rent your equitment, buy your equitment, or do without until you can afford your own equiptment and please dont steal euiptment. It's really not that serious.

4.)P.R. with your fans, club owners, Trailriders, promoters, kids especially. Look jus be nice to people because they choose to spend there nite, weekend, month,etc... with you as there entertainment. Im sure they want to feel appreciated and get there moneys worth.

5.) If you see an artist in your dance recognize them in a positive way. They are supporting you, spying, learning, or whatever but they are somebody just like you are. If you decide to play there song play the whole song like it goes. I play other artist songs also. Nothing is wrong with that but ,dont clown them because just like you as young are in the crowd watching, they were too at one point in time.

6.)There will be two crucile points in your career where you will see support. Before and in the begining stages and when you get hot. In between you will try things, wonder why nobodys comin see you and yada yada, tring to play like the artist whos hot so people will come see, Crying after the shows when nobodys shows up and all. Well suck it up because its just a test and its not your turn yet. thats the time to work hard on your style and band that way when people show up your band is ready and you are ready.

7.) Last but not least love your zydeco community even when you feel like they dont love you back because no matter who is successful or who gets honored, it benefits all the zydeco bands because more and more people's eyes are open to what were doing. Dont let yourself and your music be about the vendettas and grudges you have in your life because if something happens to one of us in the zydeco community, we would feel guilty of not clearing things up. I am a victim of my last statement ,but thank god i caught myself to understand that people make mistakes and without forgiveness the world will shatter so though I will never forget what was done to me and what will most likely continue to be done to me, I FORGIVE because i know that if i cant help a musician I will never hurt them, but Im always going to perform at 115 % no questions asked.

I've been apart of music since before I could pronounce my name, but ironically my name was already created because of the legacy of my great uncle harry hypolite, my dad nathan sr., my cousin chuckie, my uncle dennis, and my uncle sid elsidos willliams created for me. my name will continue through my little sister, my little brother, and hopefully through my kids. I'm young and I have not experienced what my dad or my uncles, or any of the other artist had to go through to make it in music, neither do I know what they have to do to continue to make it in the future, but through time I will learn if the lord allows me to. I respect everyone in this industry and have no problems with no1, unless Im disrepected. im influenced by a lot of artist who are deceased and some who are still in the business today. I wasn't there when clifton played or dopsie, or amede ardoin , but I do know that la la, zydeco, creole music, whatever is the preferred pronounciation, is and I repeat not one man, one name, or one family. we all have a destiny in life. some of us are alike, some of us are totally different, and if im compared to some artists I apologize because its not intentional. I play what I feel and I create what I feel. we all have taken from each other and learned from each other. I hear some of my accordion licks in some artists songs. im flattered, not offended or thnk there trying to be me because nobody can play like me with the feel that I have nobody can sound like I sound and vice versa. So i say this because I have a siblings comin up and young artist who look up to me (guyland ledet) jus like I used to look up to an artist when I was jus starting and I don't want to fall into the same trap other artist did because if I do then i'll lose my vision and promote the wrong message. im gonna be in this industry as long as god allows and I feel the love to keep creating and making people smile. i'll respect everyone that respects me. much love -Lil Nate-

You know its very disturbing to know that some artist of today have it all and still find time to bring others down. Its hurting to know that some artist you call your friend cutts you down for no apparent reason. Being a young musician in the zydeco game, i've learned that a person can give there last to help people or go alone with them , but it's always gonna be this negative vibe. We as musicians should be happy when one of our own acomplishes a new venture in the music. This genre of music is no ONE MAN SHOW, its a legacy which will surpass me and generations to come if we stop this foolishness. Ive been in the game for a little while and "I WILL BE IN THE GAME UNTIL I DECIDE TO STOP" so we as musicians must get used to the success of our fellow musicians, be happy and maybe try to learn something from there success. Im a young musician in the game compared to some others and there are artist that are younger than me who are coming up and I vowel to not make them feel like some of the older artist make me feel because they weren't always where they are and they learned from the older musicians just like i've learned from them.
P.S. If i somehow have offended anyone in my fews years of success i apologize, but what i do on stage is what i feel and i will not apologize for the gift god has given me.
-MUCH LOVE-

It is my pleasure and honor to represent zydeco music next year for Spring Break in Universal Studios-Orlando, FL.This year has really been a blessing for the Big Timers' Org. Unfortunately I've lost a few friends&family members that were dear to me along this journey in zydeco and it really hurts sometimes to know one day you were cool with a person and the next day it was like we never knew each other, but im gonna accept what god allows, both the good and what i think is the bad. I pray for the continued success of my band and all the other zydeco bands and i will represent well when i hit that stage in Universal Studios. Thanks to all the fans, djs, club owners, promoters, family and friends. Extra special thanks to Pauline Williams & Clarence SkipperIII w/ Locksdown Productions!! PEACE!!

P.S.08 was for Lil Nate, but 09 is the sign to Do it Big Time!!

Extra P.S. A wise woman told me one day about 1yr ago, when one door closes another one opens. Well this mug is wide as hell. That other door shoulda been close.lol.
