Dear Member,

Thank you for your past membership with Colony Pool.  We look forward to you and your family returning during the 2009 season.  Your satisfaction and continuing participation are important to us.

The pool is a not-for-profit organization and depends on members to share the expenses, time and labor to keep it open and available for the families in our neighborhood.  As usual, the pool is in need of some "pre-season" funding to cover some expenses over the next few months.  The Board has asked that anyone who can, pay all or part of their dues at this time, to please do so.  As everyone realizes the economy has caused many prices to increase.  We have been hit with minimum wage increases that affect most of our labor expenses as well as increases in chemicals, water and sewage fees.  We have decided NOT to participate in the City Day program this year.  This program allowed area residents (non-members) to swim for free one day each week last year.  In an effort to compensate for not participating in the City Day this year, we have implemented a new fee structure which includes a slight increase.  We know that this will disappoint many people but we are trying to make it more manageable by allowing members to pay membership fees in three installments prior to the May 15, 2009 due date.  We hope this helps to make membership more affordable to you.  We are also requiring members to volunteer four (4) hours to help with preparing the pool and grounds this year, otherwise an additional $25-$50 fee will be assessed depending on the type of membership.   We will have information on workdays and fund raising events on the website soon.

Enclosed, is this year’s membership application.  Please fill it out and turn in your fees so we can have funds to prepare for 2009.  Remember, you can also pay online through our website, www.colonypool.org.  There you can find out more details about upcoming events like our Spring Fling and a link to our MySpace page.

We understand our members value their membership.  In an effort to keep others from “sneaking” in the pool, we will require ALL members to check in at the front desk and present identification upon arriving.  Guest fees will be $5 per person regardless of residency.  We will sell discounted guest passes early in the season that will offer guest fees at 10 for $30.00. 

Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to call Board President, Paul Schmitt at 817-3779.  We also have meetings approximately every two weeks to which we invite you.  Our Board meetings will be listed on our website.  We look forward to you joining us again this season.

SINGLE PARENT FAMILY:  $275 - includes 1 adult and children under age 21 living in the same house.  Additional persons age 21 and over living in the same house are $65 each.  **4 hours of work are required with this membership or an additional $25 will be assessed.  ....

SINGLE:  $150 – **4 hours of work are required with this membership or an additional $25 fee will be assessed.    

SENIOR SINGLE:  $150 – 1 adult 60 years of age or older by May 15, 2009.  No work hours required. ....

SENIOR COUPLE: $250 – 2 adults 60 years of age or older by May 15, 2009.  No work hours required.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP:  $65 – each additional non-dependent adult or child. This membership cannot be purchased alone.  It must accompany one of the above memberships.

INACTIVE MEMBERSHIP: $25.00 - if you will not be using your membership this year and would like to take a leave of absence.

ALL CURRENT MEMBERS’ DUES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY MAY 15, 2009 OR POOL PRIVILEGES WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.  LATE FEES OF $25/MONTH WILL BE ASSESSED IF PAYMENT IN FULL IS NOT RECEIVED BY MAY 15, 2009. ALL MONIES PAID TOWARD DUES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

**WORK HOURS OR ADDITIONAL PAYMENT MUST BE COMPLETED BY MAY 15, 2009.....ALL DUES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY MAY 15th OR POOL PRIVILEGES WILL NOT BE EXTENDED. LATE FEES WILL BE ASSESSED IF PYT IN FULL IS NOT RECEIVED BY MAY 15TH. ALL MONIES PAID TOWARD DUES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
