Hi there
We are sorry and pissed of of course that we could not play our Airwaves gigs. This Was due to that Orri, the motherfucker beating the shit out of the drums, ended up in a hospital and was not alowed to leave for the gig. He tried to escape but two vampire nurses cought him and held him for the night.

No honestly, he's situation has been pretty serious, but we hope that he will be back on his feet stronger than ever and we'll be able to show you the best rock act in Iceland asap.

All the best

Atomstation…in a car park: Sirkus lives.

Heavy, LA-style rock is big news in Iceland at the moment - bands like Sign and Tommygun Preachers are doing great things at home and abroad which bodes well for the future of Icelandic guitar music. It could be more inventive but who cares when they have the songs and talent to turn your mood from rainy-day blues to California-sunshine happy.

LA-style rock in the middle of the old Sirkus car park, however, is something rarer than 'big news' which made Atomstation's impromptu performance last week a bit special. Their stage was a tent bought from Bonus and crowd was mainly made up of confused tourists ("Gene, why are there hairy men playing loud music in a car park? I thought Iceland was meant to be peaceful…anyway, can you see the Northern Lights yet?" ) and lots of old Sirkus regulars. Atomstation were brilliant and their album, Exile Republic, is one of my favourites so far this year - if it doesn't win some sort of IMA recognition then it'll be a surprise.

Even the lead singer had a Tom Selleck 'tache in honour of the legendary Sirkus Tom Selleck Moustache Competition, but he may have just had it anyway. Nice fuzz though.

They have three live dates in the next few weeks so go see them for yourself.

Atomstation eða Atómstöðin hefur látið lítið fyrir sér fara síðustu ár eða allar götur síðan hún gaf út frumburð sinn „New York – Bagdad – Reykjavík" árið 2003.

Næstu tvö lög skilja svo lítið eftir sig en platan kemst aftur á flug með hinu stórgóða „Kill Us All" þar sem Gummi fer á kostum. Hamagangurinn og rokkið heldur svo áfram í næstu þremur lögum og í síðasta lagi plötunnar gíra þeir sig svo aðeins niður í laginu „Lifetime" þar sem þeir loka plötunni með pompi og prakt.

Strákarnir í Atomstation geta borið höfuðið hátt því loksins er komin út alvöru íslensk rokkplata með skítugum textum og einu smekklegasta plötuumslagi sem undirritaður man eftir!

Lykillög: Mace, Think No, Kill Us All, Lifetime

The Grapevine gets a 'sleazy thanks' in the sleeve but we'll not be influenced by such blatant arse kissing. Actually, no flattery is required because Exile Republic is pretty good, offers of filth or not. The opening blast of 'Credo' is pure LA rock. If Guns 'n' Roses bought a cute rescue home dog which was subsequently run over with extreme prejudice, then the resulting charity single would sound like the first track. Mainly because it'd be a pretty angry song but also a tad less precise in the marriage of riff and vocal due to their angst, a trait followed by Atomstation. Listen on and the blitz of pounding guitar and drums, such as those on 'Dramaoverdose' and the magnificent 'Bloodline', is an aggressively fun combination. Best on the album is 'Bugchasers' due to its mid-song breakdown and lyrics like "ugly dirty motherfuckers/sleeping with infected hookers". Let's hope this isn't the sleaze they're sending

THE VERDICT
Ten tracks of unadulterated, polished heavy rock with enough soul and humour to prevent it from sounding even remotely dull after a few dozen listens – a potential breakthrough album.
