We've been getting lots of great press lately, on air, in print, and at the laundromat.

Here are a few quotes...

"Some of The Strip’s sounds are astoundingly beautiful. Others are almost scary-- but in a really good, spooky Miles Davis/Bitches Brew way. A full year of playing to the masses on Toronto's transit system has helped The Strip find the formula for the widest appeal."
- Mark Rheaume,
 CBC National Radio, FRESH AIR

"Stick to Your Guns grabbed me at first listen. The vocals are clear and up front where they deserve to be, and the harmonies are beautifully done. Love the banjo on the title track! This album has a wonderful mix of sounds, that somehow blend and work - it's one for your wish list for sure."
- Pat Moore, Host of 'Weekend Warmup',
 CKCU 93.1 FM, Ottawa

"The Strip is a unique mix of folk, rock, roots, experimental, alt-country and jazz all infused with brilliant songwriting and beautiful harmonies."
-
BD Hughes, Toronto Independent Music Awards

....

"“Stick to your Guns” is a refreshing blend of guitar driven original songs complemented by tight harmony vocal work. The attention to production detail along with the well crafted inclusion of Saxophone and Banjo, make for a memorable debut from The Strip."
- Doug Gibson,
Songs From the Wood, CKWR FM, Waterloo

Hey Fellas and Fillies.

Just did our first radio interview, for "Do you hear what I hear" on CHUO, in Ottawa.
45 minutes of fun.  Good to get that one under the belt. The hosts were gracious, funny and intelligent. Got another coming up tomorrow AM for Whistle Stop Radio. Things are rollin' along real nice...

I was opening the mail at the station, looking for something new that would change my world (you’ve got to have a dream). One promo package from Toronto revealed an expressive, painted cover with a winter scene which really caught my eye. The bio mentioned busking, banjos and saxophones, and a genuine treat came when the disc hit the player. The Strip play “roots” music, although it’s a little unfair to pigeon-hole it as just that. Yes, there are tasty banjos in the mix but also the promised sultry saxophone and rhythms that would make many jazz drummers proud. The real champ here is the song-writing; catchy, melancholic lyrics sung with understated grace and doused with sweet harmony vocals. Stick to your Guns is content to draw you in slowly and gently. Halfway through, when the rollicking “The Russian Song” gives way to the soft, soothing “Wolves” I’m starting to realize just how good this band truly is. The next songs whip by and before I know it the album is over
leaving me with a single thought:  I need to see this band live! Pick up Stick to your Guns, you will not be disappointed.
