Dear all you Lovelies,

Happy Summer and Happy 4th of July. We hope you all have big plans for the holiday and are going to see fireworks from your favorite fireworks-viewing spot. We'll be in Brooklyn watching the 'works from the riverfront park in Williamsburg. It's going to be open now, so tell your friends. It's gonna be hott.

In Up The Empire news, we're taking a break from playing shows after our last run in the NorthEast (which was amazing, by the way). Thanks to all of you in Boston, New Haven, and New York for coming out. Playing with Apostle of Hustle and Memphis and The Muggabears at the Mercury Lounge was a special treat for us and, we hope, for you too. So, like we said, we're taking the rest of the summer to write some new songs--and we're really excited about what's already coming down the pipes. We hope to get into the studio and get another EP out to you as soon as we can!

Lastly, as we move deeper and deeper into the digital age, we want to let you know about our shows and other news in more ways than one. If you would like to get regional specific updates (only the super important ones!) to your cell phone, we can text them to you. Go ahead and sign up at our myspace page and we can text you all the Up The Empire news that's fit to print.
