I'd like to solicit some opinions here if I may.  I've been looking over other SG awards programs sites (categories/nominees/winners et al) and I think it's fairly obvious that the fandom is in great decline.

For the most part even I have left the fandom and I no longer write SG-1 fanfiction. It also seems to me that good new works are becoming increasingly difficult to find.  That doesn't mean that there isn't any love left for SG-1 but...it does leave me wondering just how relevant are the Blue Moon Awards?  What is the interest level in having this program continue?

The site still gets fantastic hits and I can see that people are still hitting out for past nominees and winners but still....I wonder.

I would like to see the program open in January as planned but if the interest isn't there then is it worth going to all of that trouble? Is it all better left to the Isis Awards and the SFAs to hash out?

Your opinions are very welcome or I wouldn't be making this blog.  I'm open to the ideas of returning the program to its roots and keeping it for Adult Works...open to leaving it as it is...possibly (just possibly) welcoming the SGU creators in this year.

I hope you'll be kind enough to offer them to me and help me work through this little conundrum.

Woops.....

Hey, I'm only human.

Three GEN banners were missing from the site, they have since been uploaded along with a few others that had been accidentally omitted.

Those who requested it; banners have been mailed to you and one was updated upon request.

I am going to put up a text/link page for the winners in the near future. I had a busy weekend and a busy week ahead. I wanted to be sure winners were announced on time and their banners were ready with the announcement.  Hopefully over the coming weekend I'll be able to do that.

Many THANKS to all those who emailed expressing their kind comments on the program...you're all most welcome!  I'm glad so many people had such a good time this year.

All the best,
Lisa

All votes have been tallied and all Winners are known.  I have 6-9 banners left to make and then Winners will be announced.  As usual, all ties have been honored.

So, all should finish up on time if not a bit early if I can get to get to the webwork this weekend.  I could have had it done earlier but I've been busy writing...sorry.

Many thanks to those who participated in the program this year!

Hope to see you all again next year.

Well, due to a minor little glitch with our form handler....voting closed 13 hours ahead of schedule this year. Sorry about that folks!

I'll tally the votes and have the winners ready to be announced on or before April 30th.

Some folks wondered just how voting was being handled....it was handled thusly. Through the form provider all duplicate votes were automatically kicked to a junk email account. Those votes will be compared with the others to be sure nothing accidentally ended up where it shouldn't.  Other than that...good old Gmail kept track of everything for us nice, neat and very ordered.  As with last year, the overwhelming majority of voters were 100% honest and appeared to have a bit fun, which is one of our main goals.  Those who weren't honest aren't worth mentioning as there was so few of them that they were easily singled out, tagged, and dismissed.  Although a few works had heavy 'cheating' (why anyone cheats in an online awards program is beyond my ability to comprehend, that's certainly not a 'win') no works were disqualified, only the extra votes.

Many thanks to all who participated in this year's program. Gods willing, hope to see everyone and a few new faces again next year.
